Breaking the Fourth Wall

Here's a pet peeve of mine that you might find silly: I hate it when an actor's tattoos become a character's tattoos. I think it smacks of laziness and unoriginality.
This one is pretty bad, but the most egregious I've ever seen is in Belly, when the camera lingers for about two seconds on Method Man's Wu-Tang piece.
Does this bother you, too?

No, I like it when they're incorporated into the story rather than covered. I think finding a way to incorporate them is what requires imagination.
I'm into tattoos so I think it's cool if they can work them in. Angelina has some unique tatt's and I dig that. Now thats not to say it's right for every movie she will do, but if they can work then into the story I'm fine with it.
Then there are some actors with crappy tattoo's that should have them covered.
No, what's even worse is when they're not part of the character and they were too lazy to cover them up. Speaking of Wu-Tang, the worst is when RZA was in American Gangster and you could see his Wu-Tang tattoo in a movie that took place decades before the Wu-Tang Clan existed.
And I put my email address in the name field. That's awkward.
uh, no.
Off to email kona…
The weird thing is that it's not just that they didn't hide the tattoos, they are kind of the focus of a lot of the advertising. Whatever, that movie just looks generally crappy anyway.
I am starting to question a certain person's hetero status- hell, I'm a straight woman and the last thing I focus on, when looking at Angelina, are her tattoos. She's got a great set of, er, um, eyes.
Beautiful … eyes. Yeah, eyes.
One time when I was waiting to get my car tags at the MVA, I met Perry Ferrell's tattoo artist. I thought he was just using a lame pick-up line, but he had photos to prove it. We talked for hours. You know, the normal amount of time you have to wait in MD to get your plates. It certainly made the time pass faster.
No. She's got a lot of them so covering them up all the damn time seems impractical. Given the nature of the character it works. Now if she were playing some sort of an Elizebethan character or something, obviously it would need to be
I actually read an interview with her recently (Vanity Fair, maybe?), and she said that this movie was quite refreshing to work on because usually she spends hours in the makeup chair having her tattoos covered. In Wanted, she actually had some added.
Bedbugs…does this guy just carry around pictures of him tattooing Perry Ferrell to pick up chicks? "oh man im going to the DMV…gotta bring the photos!"
Rzas tattoo is clearly visible in American Gangster and that irritated me as well. That bastard.
It doesn't bother me anymore than an actor's nose becoming a character's nose does. What's the big deal? Explain, please.
