Jessica Simpson and what looks to be New York's least intimidating bodyguard pranced around the city yesterday. Simpson looked cheerful, despite rumors that she and boyfriend John Mayer have recently parted ways; but maybe that's because other, conflicting rumors are claiming that the two are once again dating. Although our spies saw Mayer flirting with other women on Thursday night - and overheard the shaggy-haired musician tell friends he was "happy being single" - a source at the Soho Grand Hotel said, "John came in Sunday, after Jessica had already checked into the penthouse. He met her up there and spent the night."
What makes this story interesting is that it's completely uninteresting, like when a movie sucks so much it's all you can talk about for hours.
