The always PR-savvy Lauren Conrad offered a swift rebuttal after yesterday's attacks from organizers of a Humane Society fashion show who claimed LC threw a hissy fit and bailed before fulfilling all of her obligations. We would have refused to walk the stupid runway with those poor dogs dressed in human clothes as well, so we really can't judge. Lauren, however, says otherwise — and went to MySpace to give her side of the story. She threw in a few grammatical errors for good measure, just in case anyone thought the blog was written by her publicist (we're still not convinced).
Click through for her statement. Spoiler alert: We're guessing she's no longer going to be happy posing for pictures with Wendy Diamond (at left).
July 16, 2008 - Wednesday"Paws For Style" charity
I would like to address some of the internet rumors regarding what happened at an event I attended in New York on Tuesday. I was invited by "Animal Fair Magazine" to attend a charity event, "Paws For Style" fashion show. I have always been a supporter of animal causes. I own 2 rescue animals and this sounded like a great event. I agreed to pose for the cover of the magazine, host the event, do press at the event and donate clothing, all of which I did. I was not aware of any other commitments. I was not paid to attend the event and my hotel room was donated to the charity. I also made a voluntary donation to the Humane Society for more then the cost of my airfare so there would be no expense to the charity. I have always been responsible and keep my word on all commitments. I am extremely hurt and disappointed that Wendy Diamond would go to the press and attack me with untrue statements. Anyone who knows me, knows this is not the kind of person I am or who my parents raised me to be. It's just embarrassing that people are saying these things about me. I was trying to do a good thing and help out a charity by doing everything I agreed to do. I continue to support the Humane Society, as it is a wonderful organization.

She's just mad they gave her the ugly dog.*
*I know it is cute.
Aw. Well now I feel kind of bad for her. Mostly because I picture myself as her, and the Humane Society as a guy I once tried to impress, at no expense to him, but he still had stuff to bitch about.
Wendy Diamond creeps me out with those crazy eyes of hers.
I absolutely love anything that supports kindness to animals. But what is kind about dressing them up and making them look like assholes in front of their buddies?
wendy does look like she has a touch of crazy in her.
