The Overrun of the Place

Although she's been caught drunkenly driving twice and in possession of narcotics half as many times, Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to only 10 days of community service and 24 hours in jail.

Seen here at an America Red Cross blood service facility in Los Angeles, Lohan will work about seven hours a day to fulfill her requirement.

Although the actress, 21, was sentenced to the mandatory minimum of four days in jail for her second DUI conviction, prosecutors agreed she could serve 10 days of community service in lieu of two days behind bars.

Lohan was also given credit for one day served from her July arrest, leaving a remainder of 24 hours in jail. She has until January to complete that portion of her sentence.

Do all the nonviolent offenders in America's prisons know that 48 hours in jail is equivalent to 70 hours working at a blood bank in suburban LA? That might be a transition they'd be interested in making.

Snarkiness isn't so effective when it's something you should have been expecting anyway. I don't really know who would be surprised by this.

This just pisses me off. I was sentenced to 93 days in 2003 for a first offense driving on suspended license. Never been on probation, never had a DUI. I was released after 60 days for good behaviour. What a load of bullshit.

At least you weren't chained up in Boy George's basement as punishment, Mae.

Possibly juju. Only because they require buttoning and zipping. So she has to put a teeny tiny bit of effort to get dressed in the afternoon.
