Anything For Lance

Insiders say Lance Bass is officially on board for next season's Dancing With the Stars — but network executives are still deciding whether or not to pair the openly gay boy bander with a male or female dance partner. We smell a controversy! You tell us: Should Lance be paired with a man or woman?

Are you kidding? Why should he dance with a man? just because he's gay? So stupid.

I wonder if it really should be the network execs decision. I mean, there's always a chance he might want to dance with a woman. I'd like to see him dance with a man, though. I can already hear the crazy religious protests and the boycott of the show….

Just because he is gay they are wondering if he should dance with a man??? Thats idiotic, what difference does it make? Unless of course the show is slipping in the ratings and need some 'shock' value to get people back to watching it?

I never watched the show and whomever they partner him with will not change my mind.

Bingo, Ed! It seems we're "N Sync" on this topic.

    Thanks Run.

You can't tell me in all the years that this show has been on, that they did not have a few cloest cases on there, but because he is out lets have him dance with a man?? Is anybody else sensing some sort of discrimination here?

What is the difference if he is paired with a woman, being a gay man? You can't tell me that the male professionals that are paired with women are all straight. I will definately be watching DWTS though now, sfter Lance being on it.

Dancing is a sacred act between a man and a woman. I believe gay people should have the same rights as every other citizen, but I feel that gay dancing, even if the two are married, is contributing to the breakdown of traditional dance partering.

Unfortch, if they paired every gay ballroom dancer with a person of the same sex we'd be left with about 5 man/woman couples, worldwide.

I can see how this could present a problem, seeing as there's never been a gay professional dancer before.

    Sar, I peed a little.

I think DWTS should take notes from fashion week and have a very special all-dude episode. Because homosexuality, much like ethnicity, is just so NOW, dahlinks.

Bruce and Lance have been secretly dating for a while now. I know this has to be true because I read it in the "Star". I do, however, feel sorry for the thong.

Why do we have to have another openly gay dancer, if the do go through with the male partner idea? Why can't it just be one of the good dancers that they already have on the show, regardless if that danceer is gay or not? As long as the other guy is comfortable with it, who cares?

Richard Simmons realy needs to put pants on because those tired old short shorts have GOT TO GO!

Not to go off topic here but I need to remark while it's been commented about: I. FRICKING. ADORE RICHARD SIMMONS. I saw some sweet, sad interview with him on the TV guide channel (I know I know) and I decided he's wonderful.

Richard Simmons is THE definition of "delightfully campy." I sort of love him. That being said, he maybe needs some longer shorts now - old man balls and whatnot.
