Rosie is trying a little too hard to make a statement. She should leave her children out of it. That little girl is way too young to understand war or any of the ramifications of it, and she should not have to worry about it at this age! Kids should be made to feel safe and secure, not involved in adult matters. Rosie called this "art". Hmmmm…interesting.
maybe shes making the point that kids all over the world fight wars at her age?
I think that is what she is trying to prove, but really, what is that teaching her child? To be afraid or wars? I don't know if she is trying to teach empathy, but if that is the case I think she is going about it in the wrong way. I think kids that age are too young to have to worry about wars. As parents it is our job to make them feel safe and secure, not expose them to all the horrors of the world to teach them about life.
i dont have kids but i say to myself when i do i want to teach them about some of the pain (although not all) so they know how lucky they are. My parents did that - not to rosies extreme- but hey would take me and my sisters to childrens hospital to meet some of the little children you see there so we know we were lucky. So i think i understand rosie on this one, although im not saying i approve, im also not saying i dissapprove because her daughter is no so different in age than the lost boys were. As i said, i say this stuff now. i dont have kids and i could change, but i proabbaly will take my children to childrens hospital. I think it was good for us to learn about others pain at a young age.
Rosie put it on her website to be controversial, period. Then she whines when people take the bait. It's classic Rosie.
