Why this is just coming out now, we have no idea: Lynne Spears ran over and killed a 12-year-old boy on his bike back in 1975. She was a mere 20 years old at the time and was driving her injured brother to the hospital in Kentwood, La. when she accidentally struck the child. A source close to the family blabbed to the Enquirer:
To this day, Lynne hasn't gotten over what she did. She gets that terrified look in her eye when she is thinking about it. She has told only a few people about the accident and always says, 'Please don't think I'm a bad person.'
And to top it off, Lynne's rep confirmed the story, saying, "It bothers Lynne still to this day." Obviously.
Just when we were beginning to think the Spears family could surprise us no longer. Touche, Lynne. Touche.

She must have been the one who taught Britney how to drive.
zing!
What a horrible thing to have to live with for the rest of your life, I especially feel sorry for the parents of the victim.
Maybe she just took the fall because she was letting little Brit Brit drive. She used to drive all the time y'all…she's cuntry.
I'm giving her a pass on this one. She didn't mean to do it, it was an accident. Plus, I knew someone who hit and killed a kid by accident and it was a horrible thing for her to live with.
God, none those hicks should ever be allowed near cars or children!!
"driving her injured brother to the hospital" … that's pretty low to post this story, you don't know if it was a life threatening injury, you don't know that the 12 year old didn't dart out from inbetween 2 cars or behind a tree or bush, there are a lot of details missing. and if it still bothers her don't ya think her guilt is more than anyone could imagine. accidents do happen, that is why they call them accidents
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I try to sympathize with her, but someone did the same thing to me/my son/my family. They weren't driving anyone to the hospital or anything. She was talking on her cell phone and driving 50 in a 25 mph zone. My son DID dart out in front of her, but she never really seemed remorseful. When I saw her in court waiting to be sentenced for her vehicular homicide charge, she cried. I thought she was crying because she was afraid to go to jail, though. It was her first driving offense EVER - and I know she didn't mean it. Something like this obviously seriously affects both parties involved and their families.
i'm so so sorry Dewellah. That's horrible, horrible…
So did Laura Bush.
…and as that is one of my worst nightmares, I won't ever judge a sober person who wasn't on their cell phone for it.
she has a book to sell.
or maybe she is refusing to pay blackmail.
Yeah, this one gets a pass - it's not like she was driving drunk or being a road rage idiot, this was an accident. If it wasn't a pure, tragic accident, you just KNOW this would have blown up huge when Britney was big. Or the other family would have been paid well for their tabloid confession.
I won't be snarky on this one, because it could happen to any one of us. *shudder*
Oh my god!! I'm very sorry, Sweet! Lynne, I love you and i feel sorry for you. You fuckin people always make fun of Lynne. She's not a bad person! And if you really think bout this accident, you should know that it wasnt Lynne's fault cause now she'd be in jail! Stupid people!! Anyway, i hope this story is not true. I love you, Lynne! Take care. Love you forever! <33
I am one of the brothers to Joe Anthony Winters. I personally forgive you for taking the life of my older brother. This has been painful for all of us. Please know that we all have lived with this tragic accident since it took place. Personally I believe that you have suffered a great deal right along with my parents. May God continue to strength and keep during this difficult time. My family and I have forgiven you a long time ago. Now forgive yourself. Together we can overcome this difficult challenges no matter what the press or anyone else has to say.
