Fast approaching the age of 50, Madonna has been nominated for introduction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, though a more apt nod would be for the Rocked But Then Rolled Downhill Hall of Fame.

No. 1 Kitchy says:

I cannot stand her.

However, she should’ve been inducted long ago.

I can’t stand her NOW. She was kickass in the 80s though. Of course back then I was 12 and had a lace glove fetish.

I agree. I didn’t like her back then, but I think she earned her keep. These days I think she’s just putting in the hours to maintain an image, and gets her jollies supposedly “shocking” people.

Hopefully now that she’s inducted, she will just stop… and leave what little memory I have of loving her in the early 90s intact.

This is going to sound stupid but when I listen to her music now, it really isn’t that shocking. And at least she kept her clothes on, and sang about women getting what they want, and being what they want, rather than catering to men’s every needs and being tramps to get bling *cough *cough like today’s popstars

I could just be getting old though.

I don’t think her music was or is, either. It’s the stuff like the picture above that I think she does simply for supposed shock value rather than anything she believes in or wants to prove.

Be A, I agree. After I read my first (and only) Jacqueline Susann ‘novel’. I kept thinking, after *this* Madonna was a shock??

I found this more shocking back in the 80’s when she did the, Like a Prayer video. Get down off the cross meeemaw, she gets to crazy when she hasn’t had her meds.

Sar, are you speaking of the one and only, “Valley of the Doll”. The greatest trashy beach reading novel?

I was gonna buy that one but I ended up with one where the main character was named January and (spoiler) she lives a tragic existence and dies.

Did not read that one. I was afraid nothing could ever top the, Dolls. You must get it. I loved the movie too and I usually hate when books are made into movies. IT’s trashtastic.

Just get a few books on history and science and sneek it right in the middle. That’s how I would buy my condoms. Just buy some random crap and hopefully nobody will notice.
