So, This Hawkish White Guy Walks Into a Bar...

Haha! Both Senator John Kerry and Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden accidentally called John McCain George W Bush in their speeches at last night's DNC. Aside from the first syllable, the two Republicans' names sound completely different from one another, but they're JUST SO DAMNED SIMILAR policy-wise, so it's easy to mistake one's creased, warmongering face for the other's.

We really hope neither Biden nor Kerry has to apologize for the "Freudian slips," even though at least one of them was probably intentional. (Hey, we're complete cynics at this point.)

So corny, but the first half of Biden's speech was a tear jerker. I'm a sucker for lil ole ladies.

Bush and McCain at the very least dislike each other, at the most hate each other, I don't think they are that alike at all…

Yeah. Let's see someone at McCain's camp call Barack "Tiger Woods," and let the hilarity ensue. Crappy double standards; I didn't expect to find them at Mollygood. I'm going to go to Perez' site and lose myself in poorly drawn penises and drool/urine drips now.

@ Lale

Funny you should say that! A McCain supporter actually did kinda call Barack "Tiger Woods," a while back. Check it out:

http://www.stereohyped.com/mcc.....-20080409/

Now, the reason that's different from the incidents last night is because Tiger Woods didn't vote practically in lockstep with Barack Obama the way McCain did with Bush.

Does no one remember all the many times people have called Obama OSAMA? At least the Bush/McCain slip ups were probably because they were talking about both of them in the same sentence - it's not like trying to say McCain but instead saying Hitler.

I'm sure Biden keeping to his plagiarism background read it somewhere and decided to 'borrow' it.

Why do we waste all this time and money on 8 nights of faux celebration (between both parties' conventions) when said money could do so much good elsewhere?

Wow, thanks for clearing it all up for me. So a guy who supports McCain can make an idiotic remark about BObama and it's not okay, but when a vice-presidential candidate and former presidential candidate do the same about McCain, it is. Whew. You've enlightened me. May I now compare you to Yoda?

Lale- What's going on? You sound riled.
Bush and McCain are considered similar because their political choices are similar. Tiger Woods and Barack Obama were only compared because they are both half black. As in… they may as well be the same person because they are the same race. That's prejudice. Finding likeness in character, on the other hand, is not bigotry, it's having a good eye.
Also, the VP candidate and the former presidential candidate were both giving speeches that included both Bush and McCain, so messing up the two was easy. Half the time they were discussing how alike the two are, anyway…
PS
Compare Cord to Yoda you may.

i second what ilzazhad said.

if you want to compare Obama to another Democratic leader, by all means, go ahead, but don't fucking compare him to Tiger Woods just cos they are both half black. That's stupid, ignorant and not clever at all.

McCunt and Bush, on the other hand, are practically the same in terms of ideals, politics, and beliefs. So quit being a little crybaby and get over it.

Well, I've just read my last Mollygood post. I come here to get away from the politics bullshit. Instead, I get a gossip reporter spouting politices from his bully pulpit.

I am so sick of the bullies Obama supporters have become online. David Bellavia cannot be compared to John Kerry and Joe Biden. One was a Presidential nominee, the other is a VP nominee - David Bellavia is far from either. And yes, Bellavia is a jackass, but both candidates have vocal jackasses supporting them. Even assholes have the right to vote.

Regardless of who you plan to vote for, this bullshit of slamming people who don't agree with you isn't what the founding fathers had in mind when they founded this country. FREE SPEECH everyone - FREEDOM OF CHOICE. Not that you can't share your opinions, but don't shove shit down the throats of others who don't agree with you.

Take this shit to the Daily Kos - it's where it belongs. This is a GOSSIP blog, not Politico.com.

And Broomstick, Obama is practically the same in terms of ideals, politics and beliefs as Robert Byrd (Exalted Cyclops or head of local chapter of the KKK). Go ahead, call McCain whatever you want. He won't mind - he's lived through a hell of a lot more than whiny assholes on a gossip blog calling him a name - all to protect your personal freedoms. And before you do things that adults do, like vote, grow up and stop acting like the grade school bully who can do nothing more than call people stupid names. All it does is show how stupid you are.

1. Nobody talked about David Bellavia.
2. "I come here to get away from the politics bullshit."
If that's true, why did you try to ignite a discussion about David Bellavia? None of us mentioned him. Why did you? Because you want to stop talking politics? Ooooooookie.
3. "Regardless of who you plan to vote for, this bullshit of slamming people who don't agree with you isn't what the founding fathers had in mind when they founded this country."
The founding fathers would shove more than just opinions down people's throats if they saw the state of America in 2008. They would be glad people are exercising their freedom of speech to ask for progress.
4. "Take this shit to the Daily Kos - it's where it belongs. This is a GOSSIP blog, not Politico.com.
This place is a little different that blogs like Just Jared. We like that they throw in political discussions and personal fashion confessions. Remember? To be irreplaceable, you have to be DIFFERENT. Now stop telling the editors what THEIR blog is supposed to be like.
5. Byrd is no longer part of the KKK. And even calling him a former former KKK member is a cruel simplification. Evidence that he is a changed man:
"I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times … and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened.”
6. "he's lived through a hell of a lot more than whiny assholes on a gossip blog calling him a name"
We're the "whiny assholes" here? THE IRONY, MMMAAAAAAAYYYYYYYNE.
7. We really do not think McCain will “protect [our] personal freedoms”, that’s why we voice our disdain.
