I understand where the GOP is coming from (sort of). The media has been blowing sunshine and rainbows up this guys ass for a long time now; and it's pretty much assumed by everyone (including Barack) that he will be the next POTUS. However, the GOP just seems to be grasping at straws now, trying to bring him down. I think they are just upset that they aren't able to drink from the same fountain of youth and charisma that Obama seems to.

I keep imagining McCain going home and saying "Obama, Obama, Obama!!!" in the Jan Brady voice.

All I want at this point is a president that is not a Republican. I cannot stand the thought of rewarding eight years of skyrocketing debt, eavesdropping, shitting on the Constitution, and running fear based campaigns with another presidency. I wish that they would get voted out of every elected office possible at one sitting because I think that only a resounding message could possibly get through. It's too bad that the last president to erase our national debt will only be remembered for having his dick sucked.

mccain kept saying "well you never have gone to europe or the middle east." he went. the media covered it (to a ridiculous degree, i agree.) but i definitely don't think the media has been easy on him.

and i don't know if it's assumed by barack that he'll be the next president. he's never said that. and the full context of the quote in the mccain ad makes it pretty evident that he's trying to show some humility.

I don't get that rectal sunshine from McCain at all. Maybe it's because I don't like him either - Obama just seems more polished than McCain. Whenever I hear the news talking about McCain, it's always in the sense of shock that he's as far ahead as he is (which I will admit is insane…I don't know where his supporters are).

When I think of Obama, I think of polished speeches and nice suits - when I think of McCain, I think of weak tea and tomato soup.

I do think that McCain was totally wrong in criticizing Obama for going to Europe. He whined and bitched that he didn't go until he finally did. Then he bitched that he went. You really can't have it both ways.

Judging from the trumped up outrage and indignation of Obama and his bloggers, over Senator McCain's Moses comparison … I'd say that Senator McCain struck a nerve. It also shows that Obama is a pompous narcissist, who takes himself way too serious, and has no sense of humor. Besides, when someone walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck … they shouldn't flip out when someone calls them a duck … and, in this case of self Idolatry, and virtual worship by his followers, Obama puts Huey, Dooey, and Louie to shame.

Silly McCain, These tricks are for kids. I didn't used to hate McCain, but I'm starting to more and more. Not only has he become a yes-man for Dubya, he can't even make a good attack ad. If he can't even attack his middle-aged opponent, how well can he do in the war on terror? I don't think Bin Laden will come out to fight if we call him Britney Spears, maybe Moses might due the trick, but probably not. They appear to have the same beard. It's something, right?

Whatever respect I've had for McCain (which was significant, actually) is seriously eroded.

McCain was the only Republican I respected, until this presidential race. If he wants to show a bit of integrity, why doesn't he run ads saying what HE will do as president? Or at least attack Obama on relevant issues. This ad and the Paris/Britney ad just scream of desperation. It makes McCain look like he's the jealous Jan to Obama's Marcia.

About Obama's supposed arrogance, Jon Stewart brought up an excellent point: You're running as the leader of the most powerful nation in the country. How is that NOT a bit arrogant? Of course anyone who casts themself in the race is arrogant. With the problems we're facing, do you really want a president who's like, "Well, I'm all right as a leader…"

I hope you all know that McCain said that was not against raising the payroll tax, not taxes on the upper class like Obama but the payroll tax. He is a giant liar, if America votes for him we deserve the misery that will most certainly befall us.

Gina, if it is "trumped up" outrage, then how has it "struck a nerve"? Wouln't it take real outrage to strike a nerve? Also, it is a logical fallicy to say that only true insults hurt. Also, if one is taking themselves too seriously (implying that the jest isn't true) then how is it possible to walk/talk etc like a duck (implying that it is true)? Please, point out one insance of something said/done by Obama that follows the mold of self idolatry? Conclusory statements do not an argument make, just like conflicting statements.

That doesn't even seem like a real ad. Is it? It's SO bad. I need to sit down with McCain's ad-man and have a heart-to-heart.

I have to agree. The media acts like Obama is the Messiah and he will solve every one of our problems. I see nice suits and nice speeches - that's it.
