John McCain spent much of this week saying he wouldn't attend tonight's debate with Barack Obama, and it wasn't until this morning that the Republican candidate confirmed he would participate.
That indecision and stunt playing did nothing, however, to quell his campaign's confidence their candidate would trample Obama.

I wonder what happens if a presidential candidate dies during his/her campaign….? Anyone know? Sorry, that picture of McCain got me thinking about death for some reason.
It's got me thinking of this really gross seabond commercial sister….
"Bye Bye Paste, bye bye ooziness..give seabond a try-y"
I can't say anything..I like Ron Paul and he's the same age…but oh so much more coherent.

Watch it here..gross.
He really looks like hell. He has that look of a person with Down's who overcase adversity in some awful Lifetime movie
@ KatieJayne
I was wondering that too. I'm guessing that he would stay on the ballet and if McCain/Palin won she would be President and then name a VP. Thats just a guess though.
Was that the least creepy picture they could find?
It's a widely ignored suspicion, but there are murmurs that JOhn McCain has had a small stroke. his left eye has been looking particularly droopy this week. It could also be reason for wanting to postpone the debates. Just food for thought..google it to read what people are saying.
Caroline, my husband and I talked about that. I mean, he still won't release his medical records. Make you wonder what might be found.
we are asking for his medical records to be released??? not to be "that person" but does anybody give a crap about any other political figure's medical records? (with the exception of the drug using ones.)
Sar, legally, they have to release their records. Just like the details of the presidents annual physical have to be released. If there is somethng in their records that indicate that they might not live through all 4 years of their presidency, people have a right to know before they vote for them.
I mispoke. They don't have to legally, but have as a courtesy since 1976.

really, em…you said it.
yes, Alice, and as you said, it makes one wonder why he won't.
How can you win a debate that didn't happen yet, and that you weren't even sure you were going to be at until a few hours ago?
Freakin' republican logic. My brain hurts.
He has provided some information on his website, but it's only the statement of a doctor, not his actual records.

thank you alice. i didn't know that and i can definitely see why people are concerned.
@Caroline…

I'm suprised that all of this campaigning hasn't killed him yet, so I wouldn't be suprised if he had a stroke. Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night and seeing his face in the corner of your room? uuughhhg *shudder*. He looks like a raisin in the sun.
My husband and I have been saying he is looking rough. I know I would be a cranky haggard bitch if I were campaigning and I'm 33. The least he could do is whiten his damn teeth.
I really got worried after the "Spain is in Latin America" interview. He sounded completely befuddled, especially when the interviewer asked,"What about Europe?"
He answered, "What about me what?"
And every time I hear him speak, I can't stop thinking about his remark about fish loving oil rigs:

I agree with the possibility of a small stroke. The man's NOT in great health. I just wish more people PAID ATTENTION to stuff like this.
And yes, em, that pic reminds me of the preacher dude from "Poltergeist".
And while we're on this subject, I have to say that I love The Onion:

Whups… linked the wrong El Kabong cartoon.
THIS is the one I wanted:

Heh…
it's so aggravating that any old white male republican schmug can run for office and get so many votes. don't underestimate the ignorance of the middle of the country.
It's frightening to me to hear a potential President of the United States tell the standing President, "Call me if you need me" about our country's close call to a world shattering depression. I felt that as an elected senator of Illinois it is his job to be there for the vote. And not to vote "present" as he has 100% of his 90+ votes, but to take a stand for something, anything! John McCain is indeed the oldest candidate to run for President of the United States, and that too concerns me. When will both parties ever give us well qualified, age appropriate candidates?….Once again the choice is between Laurel and Hardy…..sigh
