Fake Lawyers

newad

Sad but true: One of the greatest Assistant District Attorneys in the history of the Law & Order franchise, Diane Neal as Casey Novak, has left the show. It was announced today that One Tree Hill alum Michaela McManus will be replacing her. One Tree Hill abstainers that we are, we can't attest to McManus' merits; but they better be plentiful, because she's got some big sensible heels to fill.

After the jump, every single ADA from Law & Order's history. Who's your favorite?

Richard Brooks as Paul Robinette
landobrooks

Jill Hennessy as Claire Kincaid
landohennessy

Carey Lowell as Jamie Ross
landolowell

Angie Harmon as Abbie Carmichael
landoharmon

Elisabeth Röhm as Serena Southerlyn
landorohm

    Angie Harmon.

Jill Hennessy's voice drives me nuts. And Elizbeth Rohm is boring.

Those are the only three I ever watched, so there.

Casey has definetly grown on me, so the girl better be good!! A stinker stands out like a sore thumb in that cast!!
I liked the SVU ADA who left to go into the witness program - before casey - that storyline was good and she was tough.
Will Casey's storyline get wrapped up - the mental health boyfriend issues?

For schwing factor … Abbie Carmichael. Love the voice.
But overall, I don't think anyone has topped Claire Kincaid.
And yeah, I'm gonna miss Casey. I was so disappointed to see her written out of the series. Good luck, Diane Neal!

I'm gonna go with Cabot, although I am Novak fan. She was a hard ass and randomly threw out that she was a lesbian one episode. Other deciding factor: I think Diane Neal is married to Bobby Flay in real life… Points off for that.

Comparing SVU with just plain ol' L&O is like comparing "I Know Who Killed Me" with "Mean Girls": SVU sucks!

Torn between Angie Harmon and Carey Lowell.

Erm, isn't that actually the delightful Michael Moriarty?

He was the whole reason for watching the show when it first debuted..up until his falling out with Dick Wolf, he gave it both its humanity and its gravitas.

    But that's just me. ;)

Wait, Cabot wasn't the one who dropped the lesbian bomb, was she? I know when Serena (Elizabeth Rohm) got canned she asked if it was because she was gay, which struck me as being completely random, because I don't remember any other reference to her private life while she was on the series.

Was Borgia the one who was murdered? That is one of the few episodes of L&O that I haven't seen. Sad, I know, but I watch all three different series.

Elisabeth Rohm, Carey Lowell and Jill Hennessy (and her twin for one episode) are my faves. Alana is pretty good as Connie. Couldn't stand Harmon, was glas Parisse was murdered off and miss March on SVU. I really didn't like Dianne Neal, so I am open to a new ADA there.

Carey Lowell and Jill Hennessy are close seconds. And you've got to love Richard Brooks. Not that I'm a L&O addict, but the guy has appeared on the show as 3 different characters at different times. Talent, all the way. But then again, that's why I like the show. It's full of ACTORS….
(By the way, I'm still reeling from it but how much of a random parting shot was Serena's being a lesbian?)

OK, I'll be truthful. I want Diane Neal back. I am not looking forward to SVU season 10 if she's gonna be our new ADA! I am an SVU addict and I'm proud to say it. From day one, I have followed it and know a good ADA when I see one. If Diane Neal can't come back then have either Stephanie March or Angie Harmon come back! I don't want Michaela McManus to be our ADA! She's gonna kill it. We are gonna get bad ratings this season. Besides, she looks way to young to be a good ADA let alone in SVU. I HOPE TO GOD, she's only gonna be in 1 season!
