I really enjoyed reading the article about language, which is a subject of great interest for me. I can feel my blood pressure rising whenever I see words used out of context. It's like people don't realize that they can change the definitions of words over time, by passing on their ignorance to their children. (I love that song Wierd Al sings "but she was always using the word infer when she obviously meant imply" - hilarious).

Biden's justifications have just continued to dig him into a deeper hole. He can kiss that presidential nomination goodbye. What's so special about a black person who can make themselves understood? What kind of world are we living in when our senators don't understand that the word "articulate" doesn't have any sort of high connotation? Not that I really think he's that stupid, even though apparently he's got a reputation for talking out of his ass. I was listening to John Edwards on NPR last week saying something like "you've got to say the same things at every fundraiser as much as you hate it, else you're going to put your foot in your mouth".
