rocky-horror

OK, seriously, at first we were kind of kidding with the "There's No New Ideas" tag, but we're starting to shudder at its increasing accuracy.

Now there's this:

MTV is developing a remake of 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, reports Variety.

Lou Adler, executive producer of the original film, is partnering with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios on the new rendition.

The new version will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien but may also include music not featured in the original.

Our prediction: hyper-sanitized, PG-13 schlock. And 88 percent less gay.

who on god(dess)' green(ish) earth could play a homicidal crossdressing alien nyphomanic half as well as time curry? (except maybe johnny depp)

Also meatloaf looks pretty much the same, could they just reuse him?

I resent Rocky Horrow. We had a cabaret, and I suggested doing a Thriller dance, but the Time Warp dance got way more votes. Those pussies could only do the pelvic thrust.

Shankings for everyone at MTV who came up with this. First Valley Girl and now this. Is nothing sacred anymore?

But I imagine Zac Efron would look so pretty in a corset and hells.

juju, I SO PICTURED Zac Efron being cast in this, right when I first saw the story!

Now, on to my points that are very important:

    A. Tim Curry is in Oscar, my favorite movie ever of all time ever ever, and I love him for it.
ii. A remake will suck balls, and not in the appropriate way.
    V. The Thriller dance rocks, mostly because i went to private school and never really saw the Thriller dance until I watched 13 Going On 30, and then that fraternity at MIT did such a kickass live remake of the video. (So yes, geeks love that too.)
    16. When the Alabama Theater stops showing the real version in favor of the craphead-shit one, I'll freak. Til then, even Tim Burton couldn't make this worth my worry.

Oh c'mon…less gay? What's more gay than TV, let alone MTV? What it could be, possibly, is more of a LGBT love story rock opera - or in other words, complete trash. The original was camp which became cult classic. A remake could only be WAY more gay because way more gay is what the (laughs) "majority" wants.

    NNNnnnnnOOOoooOOOOoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does Hollywood have to shit on everything? What the hell did we do to deserve High School Musical meets Rocky Horror? There is only one man who has the balls to stop this abomination. Someone get Jack Bauer's phone number. Let's see if MTV still wants to go ahead with this when Jack sticks his boot up their ass.

JuJu, I bet Zac Efron has his own corset and hells.

    I don't like remakes. Please.

I didn't name my sons "junior" or "the second" for a reason.

Except for the Johnny Depp version of Willy Wonka.

(And I still didn't think that it was better than the original.)

Surely Rocky Horror is the perfect logical end to the HSM franchise when Brad (Troy) and Gabriella (Janet) leave college?
