Human grease trap Bill O'Reilly appeared on the ever-popular Daily Show last night to goofily spar with Jon Stewart and show how he can be "with it, like the Negroes." No, he didn't say that, but you know he was thinking it in his fat, two-bit head.
For a good 10 minutes, the two polar opposites mocked one another in an awkward dance of an interview that can be summed up like this:
O'Reilly: You liberal queers in New York don't know the "real America."
Stewart: You sure are stupid, huh?
Sure, we suppose it's sort of funny to see Stewart grill O'Reilly about how his beliefs are absurd, but why give this man more airtime than he already gets on Fox News? Especially if you're not going to really run him over the coals for being a detestable piece of garbage.
The first part's above and the second is after the jump.

they're both phony gasbags.
You took the words right out of my mouth SF. John Stewart is Bill OReilly minus the blind stupidity and hate. Stewart skewers and omits facts so that they fit nicely with the left wing agenda, just like Bill does for the right. When i figured this out it broke my heart becuase i really like Stewart and thought he was on the up and up.
Uh, isn't The Daily Show on Comedy Central? It's not a real news program, although it is more newsworthy than The O'Reilly Factor.
the diff?
Stewart freely admits that he is left leaning, and refers to the show as "the fake news".
O'Reilly tries to play it off as a no-spin zone, and then proceeds to spin it toward the right. and acts as if his "news" is 100% accurate.
one acknowledges the bias and "truthiness", and one doesn't.
Also, I'm carrying Jon Stewart's child, so…
It's "entertainment", not news. Both guys make millions with their shtick just like Limbaugh, Olbermann, Hannity and the thousands of others so called political commentators on both the right and left. It's all about big fat paychecks not ideology.
Yeah, but when Stewart makes me laugh, it's because he MEANT to.
The second O'Reilly opens his mouth he sounds like a pompous, self-righteous ass. I can't believe that he is telling Jon Stewart to get out of his bubble and meet people.
America is the noble nation that wants to win the war and we're defending freedom? We invaded a country that didn't attack us, we have killed thousands of civilians, the suicide rate for soldiers goes up every year…NO ONE will win this war, not the U.S., not Iraq. I'd rather wave a white flag of surrender and get out than kill one more innocent civilian. We've already shamed ourselves by invading in the first place.
And how I love how he thinks he knows America. If we're so damn conservative, how the hell did Obama get elected? How is it that Democrats won more seats this election? I'm not delusional enough to think that everyone thinks exactly like I do, but I know that there is no one ideology that defines America. And re: his nostalgia for tradition…traditionally, only white men with property could vote, and African-Americans were considered 3/5 of a person with no rights. Sometimes we've got to move on.
O'Reilly PWND Stewart…
Give O'Reilly another five years.
His target demographic of 80 year olds will be down 75%.
OReilly seemed very reasonable and I didn't detect any hate coming from him. America IS a moderate country, which doesn't want major social changes, at least not happening very fast, this is what the polls say. It doesn't mean that the people haven't become more tolerant and open minded than in any other country. In that sense both Stewart and OReilly were correct, people's behaviors and acceptance of "new" is always evolving. Barak is a great example of a person that many Americans believed in, because of his personality and political efforts, nothing else. Of course a very bad economy made it easier. In terms of the troops, OReilly has it right. We had a right to protect ourselves, we don't have to do this after every time we get hit. We did not kill thousands of civilians, this is just incorrect. After the invasion the war effort, however, was not was it should been and overall at this point one would have to say that it has damaged America's image more than it helped it. But more civilians will die when we leave…
Panos: I have read various accounts by soldiers who deserted because of the horrific human rights violations we were committing. The U.S. media will solemnly report the US soldiers' deaths, but omit Iraqi civilian deaths. Check out: http://www.icasualties.org/oif/IraqiDeaths.aspx

And as far as protecting ourselves, Iraq nor Sadaam Hussein attacked us. Our presence in Iraq is only making people hate us more. If we really wanted to protect ourselves, we'd spend more funding on Afghanistan and Pakistan.
