Now Guess How He Did It!

This here's University of Tennessee student David Kernell, the 20-year-old go-getter who "hacked" into Sarah Palin's e-mail account by guessing the answers to her Yahoo security questions.
Since the FBI stormed Kernell's apartment last week, in the process breaking up a party he was having, the young man's father, Democratic Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell, has made sure David's lawyered up tight and ready for the impending shitstorm.
Currently, it looks to be unlikely that David will go to jail for his crimes.
Now on to the important stuff: What were Sarah Palin's easily guessed security question answers?

A: Charlie
Ha! Sar, I swear I almost did that one!
Jesus is the answer to all the questions.
SCUMBAG!! I hope he rots. Can't wait for the right to hack into Obama's!!!!
Again - do we really want to possibly trust our nation's security to this woman? I am thinking this kid needs a promotion for making this painfully obvious.
Ok?? Just gave me giggle fits!
I wish I was American just so I would be able to fully understand all the Palin jokes!
Glad to help brighten your day Sarah.
Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: From a safe distance in a plane after making it run in knee-deep snow for an an hour when it's almost dead anyway
Q: Who deserves more hatred–an impregnated rape victim or someone who believes in evolution?
Of course this guy won't go to jail. He is the son of a Democrat in office. If it was the regular Joe on the street they would definitely be going to jail. This guy should go to jail.
Weren't the questions simple stuff, like her zip code and where she met her husband. Both items are available through search engines..
Traitor! America is at war you idiot, and btw, remind your father the Senator of that fact. Geeze, in college and all he can come up with to show his integrity is hacking a vice-presidential candidates email account….sure says something about the "lack of" in that family
True teK, most of those questions are stuff like "Mother's Maiden Name" "Name of your oldest Niece". I suppose if you really want it to be secure you need to lie.
Q: What is John McCain's pet name for his wife?
A: Cunt
He looks like a pansy. What a dork.
The kid should go to jail. What kind of moron thinks they can get away with using a computer to mess with someone running for the white house? Has he never heard of the Secret Service or the FBI? You mess with someone who is possibly weeks away from being elected VP there is going to be a swift reaction. There is stupid and then there is what this kid did.
Q: How much should a rare victim be charges for a the Rape Kit?
A: One thousand dollars.
Question: "What happens to the average citizen who ignores a subpoena, which results in obstruction of the course of justice and interferes with an investigation?"
Answer: "Ignoring a legislative subpoena is punishable by a fine up to $500 and up to six months in jail under Alaska law."
Follow up Question: "What happens to Sarah Palin, her family members, and her supporters when they ignore subpoenas?"
Answer: "Nothing."
She set her security question to "What is my zip code?" like an idiot.
The questions everyone else has submitted are a lot funnier than the real ones, which are just your standard, boring, tell-me-about-you questions.
1. What is your birthday?
2. What is your zip code?
3. Where did you meet your spouse?
Yep, that's what screwed her over.
Q. What is another name for kittenpaw?
A. Sharkie
Question: Who was buried in Grant's tomb?
Answer: The drunk who agreed when the ghost of Grant said at the wake, "Hey, pal, check out these sleeping quarters."
#12 - a literal guffaw.
What can you see from your house?
Foreign Policy Experience
She's a dumb ass for conducting government affairs from a Yahoo account. I got my Myspace account hacked, should that person go to jail too? This proves that she's incompetent and not fit to run the PTA, let alone our nation.
PS. Q: What's the best way to shoot a wolf?
A: From a safe distance in a plane after making it run in knee-deep snow for an an hour when it's almost dead anyway
-My favorite!
Toga, there isn't much to understand. Palin IS the joke.
You kids are hilarious!
Why should he be in trouble? If a 20 year old kid can figure out how to hack into her email, isn't that better than the Russians or Al Queda figuring it out? I think he might actually be a hero. He figured out the obvious.
Is it really hacking if you guessed the answers right? Seriously OMG! It is technically resetting password by answering questions correctly. Hacking would have been breaking into yahoo servers to get the answers and other info.
He is pretty sexy.

Thanks Helen, we've got a bunch of those joke political leaders in Canada! The ones you just want to punch in the face!
@NEK…the initial "hack" was not illegal, according to those in the industry that I've asked about it.
that type of hack is called "social engineering", and the way he went about getting the answers to her "security" questions was by simple web search. If he had done nothing other than browse her mailboxes, it wouldn't be illegal.
it was the posting of her actual emails and the changing of the password that got him in trouble.
(again, just what some so-called experts in the industry tell me…I could be wrong.)
This guy is so hot right now. I'd suck his left nipple.
"He is pretty sexy."
NO!
NO NO NO!!
I feel like Nicholas Fehn (the political comedian from Weekend Update).
YOU CAN'T! I MEAN! THERE ISN'T ANY!
NO! COME ON.
No. 16 payter says:
Again - do we really want to possibly trust our nation's security to this woman? I am thinking this kid needs a promotion for making this painfully obvious.

agreed..
Oh AWESOME! Does this mean that I can get the FBI involved when the guv'ment hacks into MY email?
Her email was boring.
A bunch of: FWD.Fwd.Fwd
"Footprints In The Sand" and other pray-for-me chains letters. There were a few recipes that were interesting and some ring around the collar type advice.
I could tell if it was Sarah Palin's email or Kathie Lee Gifford's email.
HAHAH, hes not cute! Ok thats mean, he kinda is. Ive been watching all the PSA's for the upcoming election, are they boring or is it just me? They are all available here on one spot:

Toga- No Palin is NOT the joke. These people are just so terrified that there is actually an intelligent WOMAN running for VP of the United States and she's good and she's new and they can't stand how much the public really likes her. They keep saying she's not qualified because she is only a governor but they aren't remembering history very well. Bill Clinton was JUST A GOVERNOR of the poorest state in the country and he was elected President! What does that tell you? That most of the people leaving comments are very one-sided and very forgetful of political history. It's sad really. We live in a country where we are free to express our political and religious beliefs yet once they are expressed, those in disagreement start name calling, making fun of family their members, placing blame on them for anything and everything. Let them keep making fun and let them keep up the mudslinging. That is what turns most people off and it will be exactly that that loses this election for the democrats. So glad I'm an independent!! Thanks. :-)
Q. Favorite candy bar?
A. Heath
Q. Favorite color?
A. Red (the color of blood, burning books and the placentas of babies born in the name of abstinence)
Q. Oldest friend's name?
A. Jesus
I DID find one of her emails pretty interesting.
Since I don't know how to link, I'll go from memory.
God Bless!
I have had such a hectic morning! Mac discontinued my favorite lipstick. I have to think about this. Please pray for me, as I head over to the counter this afternoon.
Just between you and me, and I feel perfectly safe in divulging this here on my email, I am growing more and more concerned about Todd. His trips to the cabin with his friend for fishing and hunting trips are growing more frequent.
Is it my intuition or is it Satan that is tapping my shoulder?
Well, I am off to cook the books! I mean burn the books!
Have a blessed day,
SP
ps. Isn't it awesome how my initials are almost just like that fabulous fashionista SJP?!
I just perused this kid's myspace and I love him.
geez, you are all insane…..
insane in the membrane
insane, got no brain
McCain rhymes with insane
LMFAO @ #53
"oldest friends name?"
"jesus"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
Um…I don't know, Patty. If we really want to make this an issue of guilt by association, I think a pregnant 17-year-old daughter is more of a statement on 'family' than a college student away from home hacking into email. And Jensational, I wouldn't exactly call Palin intelligent, not unless half-truths are considered such. I think the issue of her inexperience comes from her miniscule number of years of experience with community involvement (beauty pageants don't count) and the fact that she was Governor of such a small population. It has very little to do with the fact that she was 'just' a Governor.
Queencrone, you never fail to give me the giggles… now I sing softly in my cubicle… "Insane in the membrane… Went McCain! Got no brain!"
Well, Nisha, I guess Obama and Hillary and Biden are pretty intelligent, too, then. Do you not remember Bill Clinton being Governor of the poorest state in the US and still being elected President? There is not difference. Obama is running for President and he's only been in the senate for two years or less. Still no difference. Ronald Regan was an actor BEFORE being "just a governor" and he became President of the US and ended the cold war with Russian. So all of the " no experience" crap is just that - crap. All you people can do is call her names and make fun of her daughter and question her "inexperience". I think it's laughable at best what y'all try to get away with. Funny taht Obama and Biden BOTH voted yes TWICE on that bridge to nowhere and voted no to help repair a bridge destroyed by hurricane Katrina. And that, my dear, is the truth and it's all public record.
oh-sprout! you're back!
pardon my typos….lol
Hey sprout! :-)
Jensational, my problem with Palin has to do with 1. Her politics, which I disagree with, and 2. the lies that she and McCain seem to have as their policy for dealing with the press. Plus, this troopergate deal does not really instill me with a sense of trust in her. So it's not so much the lack of experience issue that turns me against her, but what I know about her experience in the small amount of time that she's had power. It has nothing to do with her being a woman. I was fine with Hilary. Why make assumptions about why people dislike a candidate when she gives them so, so many reasons to dislike her?
Question: Why should abstinence only education be taught in schools?
Answer: It's so effective.
Slayer - if you had the authority, would you fire a police officer that tased your 10 year old step son? Yes or no? Funny how NO ONE will talk about that part. "Troopergate" shouldn't even be an issue. I would much rather elect someone who would have that person fired instead of voting for someone who visits other countries to "apologize for the US". By the way, why make assumptions at all when no one knows the entire story? And not one person has challenged anything I just wrote about past presidents or the fact that their beloved Obama ticket voted for the same things Palin and McCain did. Hypocrisy at its finest!
I didn't challenge those things because they weren't part of my argument. I was talking about what she does and the lies she and McCain tell, not past presidents. It doesn't make me a hypocrite, it just means I care about different things than you seem to.
Slayer that last joke is priceless….and Jensational, get over it she sucks and makes very questionable decisions, abused her power while Mayor of methville, Alaska, her politics suck and make her look stupid (evolution, come on).
The reason no one responded to the past president comment in my opinion is because you are treating the "poorest state in America" as equivalent or worse than one of the least populated states. The wealth or lack thereof of the state does not necessarily mean that the governor running that state will be more or less able to relate to issues on the national scale, what worries me is the experience a governor of an essentially frontier state (when compared to East or West coast states) with a very small population, whose main claim to foreign policy experience is proximity to Russia, can possibly bring to the table as VP. I think her experience as governor of Alaska is not relevant to politics on the national scale. Then again, I also just disagree with her platform so it's really a moot point.
Slayer, not your hypocrisy, I meant the dems' hypocrisy. And some of you guys are missing my point so I will just say forget it and move to Switzerland.
You can never change a liberals mind, because they don’t have a mind to change.
It's the blind leading the blind. Just let them pucker their lips and get ready to kiss osoma's butt cheeks.
It was mentioned in Wikileaks I guess. The security question was "Where did you meet your spouse?" and the answer was Wasilly High or something
Funny you should say that Rob.
In the US there seems to be two divisions with a huge gaping hole in between. These two divisions are called Liberals and Conservatives. The American media has set up this scenario. They have made it impossible for there to be a middle ground, and most Americans have fallen into the trap. Being that I think church and state should be completely separate, and I do not feel it is the government's place to tell me whom I can or cannot marry, or what I can or cannot do with my reproductive organs, I am classified as a Liberal.
Eight years ago, I thought John McCain was one of the good guys in Washington DC. He was not afraid to stand up to the Republicans or the Democrats when he felt they were leading the US in the wrong direction. Then after the election of GW Bush, McCain fell in line with the "Bush Doctrine" and no longer questioned anything the Republicans said or did. I changed my mind about McCain. He is not one of the good guys. He simply chooses whatever course he thinks will take him to the White House. This includes selecting a "token" female as his VP running mate in an attempt to pacify the disgruntled Hiliary supporters. Fortunately, most people aren't so easily duped and misled.
See Rob, so- called "Liberals" can change their minds.
Soo.. how about that Harper vs. Dion race?
Jensational: Uh, Clinton was a Rhodes scholar. He has a law degree. Palin finally got her B.A. in Journalism after six years and five different colleges, one of which she essentially failed out of (out of a journalism degree! It's not exactly biochemistry!! Not that biochem would be an option, since she hates science.) and had to make up coursework at a community college. I don't want someone with a B.A. in freaking journalism running our country.
sar dines, queencrone - hello! Indeed, I am back. I have a new job & it took me almost a MONTH to find time to slack off & read my beloved Mollygood :)
bedbugsandballyhoo:
funny that you think McCain is trying to dupe people….you should probably take a good long educated look at Obama before you go talking about things you don't understand. You are what is wrong with people today. It is also ironic that you started your pathetic comment with a discussion about middle ground. Crazies like you are what's making middle ground impossible. Have a good day!
Funny you should say that bikerchick.
I never mentioned any support or backing of Obama in that post, or any other posts I have made on MG. I suppose you have made the personal decision for me, that if I do not support McCain, I must support Obama? So how does NOT supporting McCain refute my middle ground argument? If I don't agree with your personal political views I'm "crazy" and extreme? My so-called support of Obama is from your inference only, because I have never taken a stance for any candidate on this public forum. Since you have already made the assumption that as a foregone conclusion of not supporting McCain I must support Obama, you are the one taking the middle ground away from me with your "assumption."
Also, in my rebuttal to Rob, I never resorted to insulting Rob and calling him names. You should really not have to fall back upon personal attacks or insults if your arguments supporting your position are strong enough.
And thank you. I will have a great day here in Washington DC.
I think once you name-call, you lose the argument.
