Gotcha Whining

You knew this was coming! Sarah Palin took to the gentle, fair and balanced Fox News this morning to discuss her absolutely pathetic Katie Couric interview, which the Alaskan governor said was "annoying."
Palin continued, saying Couric's questions were unfair and that she would have preferred to discuss all the stupid fucking lies she's been trained to believe are the truth, because she's the goddamn Manchurian candidate.
Video after the jump.

I just want to stab her in the throat. I'm so fuckin sick of her lies… god.
Clobber clobber clobber clobber clobber. "Clobber the elite."
Who exactly are the elite? Perhaps people who earn upwards of $300,000 a year and have their housing expenses taken care of by their home state's taxpayers? What could you do with $300,000 a year, no rent or mortgage, per diem for living in your rent/mortgage free house, and all your travel expenses paid for by the taxpayers? For starters, you could probably easily afford to have a $35,000 tanning bed installed in your tax payer supported mansion. That's not elitist?
It's sad because I felt sorry for her when she couldn't answer Couric's questions. She looked like she was embarrased. Now, I see she has no shame.
that woman is nuts. she actually believes we think she has her own thoughts and opinions on the issues she just brought up!!! holy shit woman, THOSE QUESTIONS FROM COURIC WERE BASIC!!!!! and anyone who wants to be a heartbeat away from the highest office in the world should have a general knowledge of government, supreme court decisions, etc.
UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Ohhh gaahsh Bobby. Say it aint soo Joe. I didnt wanna taalk aboot real issues. Ima roobot with idiotic rehearsed answers.
Where the fuck is Miss Teen South Carolina up in this piece?
Oh, shut the fuck up already, Sarah.
The idea behind Couric's questions was so America could get to know something about Palin. No one outside of her state knew anything about Palin before she was picked for VP. It's a given that she is opposed to what Obama has done and said, like it's a given that Obama is opposed to McCain. The interviews were never about giving her a platform to attack Obama.
I pray McCain loses the election and she goes away. Palin is the wost kind of politician, we already have too many empty headed idiots in Washington in both parties, we don't need anymore.
Seriously now, ENOUGH of this joking around.
I judt don't think the rest of the world will take the US seriously if you elect these morons. Sorry - MAVERICKS.
One thing only to agree on-yes Katie Couric is annoying
As an outsider, looking in, (I am certainly not a Republican sympathizer nor American )…I find it fascinating how much venom seems to be directed at anyone who is not pro-Obama. I agree that Palin came across as inept when cornered by Katie Couric regarding naming newspapers, etc. that she got her information from while in Alaska. However, if everyone would take a moment to step back and look beyond your first impression, it is very very likely there was more happening than meets the eye. She has been thrust on the national/international scene in the last 5 weeks, and may simply be trying to avoid the trap which Ms Couric was so ruthlessly setting - endorsing any particular publication, and therefore appearing corporately biased in any way. She was in a no-win situation - if you want to hate her, you would have over the papers she mentioned or neglected to mention. She may simply have been trying to avoid that "shit storm" and instead stepped into another. She has not had the benefit of years of media coaching and professional handling, which may very likely be part of her appeal in the cynical world of government.
Just a thought…take a moment to set your hate aside long enough to consider that she may not have been "stupid", just trapped, and had to make a choice. I do think Katie was in "gotcha" mode - and there was no avoiding the corners she was painting Ms Palin into.
I believe this has also happened to Mr. Obama - reporters on a mission to corner. We all need to realize there is no such thing as objective journalism - these reporters come in with a well defined personal/network agenda, and it would do us all well to keep that in mind rather than swallowing it all at face value.
This makes her look like a weak, feeble woman. Is that really the look she's going for?
Palin=SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY
There's something I've been wondering about. I've been coming to Mollygood for a long time for the gossip. I recently started reading the comments about said gossip and a lot of it is really funny. Now that the election is nearing the political content has increased. It appears that 90%+ of you are going to vote for Obama and would never be swayed any other way. But you come on here and talk about how much you hate Palin and can't stand her and don't want to hear from her and how stupid she is and her wink and her accent and this and that. So why do you keep watching her? Why would you waste time watching the debate if your mind is already made up? Just curious.
sorry, Simply Me, I just don't buy that.
she could have very easily lied (not admirable, but at least it would make her look better) and said that she reads the NYT and the Wall St. Journal, effectively one "liberal" and one "conservative" publication. simply reading a particular newspaper or watching a particular channel does not mean you "endorse" it, it just means you read or watch it. it's called keeping up with all viewpoints.
or she could have said "I read all my news on line through Reuters or the AP".
or she could have said "I read the Anchorage Daily News"…you know, the main newspaper IN HER HOME STATE?
the fact that she seemed at a loss to name even ONE, including the one from her home state, is telling to me. It makes me think she doesn't read ANY.
FYI, I don't read newspapers either, unless there's a particular article someone mentions to me. when people ask me what papers I read, I say (truthfully) "I get all my news on line through Yahoo." and I also do not have years of media coaching and professional handling. I do, however, have a brain in my head and am able to use it.
good point wtr, i mailed my vote in today.
anyone expecting absentee ballots better get their arse in gear!
anywho she's a fruitcake, but what fun would it be to not watch/complain about the train wreck as it happens?
SimplyMe that is a great point but I think you are give Palin a little too much credit.
SinplyMe almost everyone who frequents this site is intelligent and has a mind of their own. This is one of the few groups of people I have come across on the internets that doesn't take anything at face value.
First off, Sarah Palin has a degree in communications and journalism. She knows the game.
Secondly, Katie Couric is just doing her job, as Sarah Palin well knows.
Thirdly, I do my own research. I have not come to my conclusions about Sarah Palin based on Katie Couric or Mollygood. I have come to my conclusions based upon Sarah Palin's actions as Mayor of Wasilla and Governor of Alaska. She took unearned taxpayers' monies for herself and her own selfish interests. She fired people who stood in the way of her "personal agendas." This is only the tip of the iceberg of the underhanded things this woman did. And if you don't believe me, do what I did. Look it up!
Why do we want to watch Palin in the debates? I equate it to watching an auto race to see the car wrecks.
Simply me, Sorry, I don't believe you are an outsider. You sound like just another of the GOP liars who hope if you repeat an untruth long enough that people will believe it.
But, assuming you really are an outsider, people don't hate Palin because they are pro-Obama. They fear her because she is so obviously unprepared to be VP, and god forbid President. Whether you are for Obama or McCain, you must be concerned about the chances of a 72 year old former POW cancer survivor lasting 4 years in the most stressfull job on the planet. I'm not a Cheney fan, but I never feared he would be a horrible president if something happened to Bush. I may not agree with his policies, but based on his prior experience even before being VP, I know he has the ability. Not so with Palin.
I don't expect her answers to be perfect, I do expect her to understand the issues. If she can't handle softballs from Katie Couric, how the devil will she handle some of the less nice world leaders?
I don't feel the need to defend my liberal bias. I am proud of my liberal bias.
In this clip, Palin just wants to spout off all the stuff shes learned in the past 5 weeks. She didn't answer Katie because she didn't know how to - I don't think it wasn't that she is "stupid" it's that she is not allowed to speak freely by her campaign. Her real honest views would probably be pretty damn scary.
Simply Me, I can't be bothered to read your comment. Remember: Brevity is your friend.
"the mistakes … Katie Couric has made"?
STFU, Palin and Fox Noise arsehole. Couric is no giant of journalism, but she's got way more ability than the one-time part-time TV sports anchor from Alaska.
@kittenpaw:
good. I'm proud of my liberal bias, too. It's time for us liberals to start playing DIRTY! I'm tired of the GOP assholes calling us "weak crybabies."
@Simply Me:
shut the fuck up and go fuck off to Perez Hilton.
SimplyMe's ridiculous 'comment' reminded me of an Iowa resident who pissed off God:
http://stuffgodhates.wordpress.....k-franing/
Seems they finally got Palin 2.0 fully programed. Her performance at reiterating party talking points is quite optimal.
what an annoying clip.
she's a decent public speaker, it's obvious she has a broadcasting background, very comfortable on tv which is why she may have come across as appealing during her initial speech and throughout the debate last night but it doesn't detract from the fact that in a one on one interview she can't seem to answer questions that are asked of her.
she avoided many questions last night and i felt the moderator didn't keep her on topic very well.
then to insult couric and gibson, respected and experienced journalists seems slightly obnoxious. she just simply doesn't seem to have enough background knowledge and experience to handle sit down interviews that require follow up questions and in-depth discussion of a topic.
i would think she'd be taking every opportunity for the public to get to know her instead of insulting the media as being 'elite' and her fellow politicians as the 'good old boys in washington'. seems kind of offensive to me and i wonder if she'll have trouble getting things done should she be voted in. hmmmm, i've been kinda wondering how the 'middle class' likes being referred to as 'joe six-pack'??!?!
No. 24 Broomstick says:

That was totally unneccessary. Just because someone is stating their opinion, you don't have to act in a ridiculous manner.
wtr,
But you come on here and talk about how much you hate Palin and can't stand her and don't want to hear from her and how stupid she is and her wink and her accent and this and that. So why do you keep watching her? Why would you waste time watching the debate if your mind is already made up? Just curious.
Oh, I dunno, maybe because there is actually a chance that this woman who knows nothing about how foregin gov'ts function CAN POTENTIALLY BE THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. in less than a year. it's scarry fucking shit. so people talk about it.
Isn't she basically just a moose-hunting Katherine Harris?
Anyway, I agree with SayWhat; so many of Couric's questions were so soft, especially asking, "where do you get your news." Why did she flub so much when she could have just said, "I pick up the Anchorage Daily News" or "I watch Fox News" (because I'm sure she does).
@evil twin:
bite me.
Not even if I kick your rotten nasty teeth out of your head and used those.
See what happens when you raise the level to ridiculous so fast? Bbbbooorrriinnngg. But if that's what you want.
Her debate drivel, summed up.
troops also the surge also tax cuts also maverick also nucular also
@ evil twin:
you need to get laid.
I'm not the one that is acting like a deranged lunatic. I actually get terrific sex on a regular basis. You should try the same. Helps with the bulging eyeballs that I can see even from this distance. So not flattering.
Broomstick, shouldn't you be flying through the air with some fat ass riding you? Or perhaps sweeping up a pile of dust bunnies and crumbs?
By the way,
First!
Simply, there are many, many, MANY reasons I hate Palin, and not one single one of them has anything to do with Obama. Do some research. She really is THAT BAD.
@ evil twin: give it up. you're lame.
@ stoney: you'd be surprised. lots of people in my area are McCain/Palin supporters, but if you ask them why, they can't back it up with knowledge/info. It's quite pathetic, actually.
Stoney, word. She's sucks on her own, she doesn't need bolstering on that account.
@Broomstick
Nanna, nanna, boo, boo, pee, pee, poo, poo.
evil twin is just trying to keep bullshiat like "go to perez" out of the thread, and I totally respect that…
Thanks, maria.
Wait, wait, wait. Isn't telling someone to "go fuck off to Perez" the same behaviour the people on his site exhibit when someone doesn't agree with them?
I'm curious why the paps and celebs seem to be so openly biased in this upcoming election. Just now on Fox News at 6 O'Clock, it was told that all over in the state of Ohio, persons driving vans are loading up all the homeless, etc. people they can find, taking them to register to vote in the presidential election, and the SAME DAY, getting them to vote ( this is October ) for….yep, OBAMA. Fox News says the big networks knows this, but prefer NOT to publish it. http://www.FoxNews.com check it out
If Obama was a Republican and Palin was a Democrat, the news organizations would be putting the screws to him and pointing out the fact that he does not have nearly the experience she has.
Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit!
Why yes, PattyAnne Troll, you know if FOX NEWS airs such an unbiased report, then it just has to be the gospel truth straight from the mouth of God.
*rolls eyes until stuck in back of head*
How many more posts does the RNC have you set to write before your shift's over?
upchuck, experience was never an issue for me.
her absolute ignorance on issues and history are what bothers me.
her views on abortion (and yes, rape kits) bother me.
her total lies about the bridge to nowhere (not to mention the $ she KEPT after she changed her mind on it) bother me. (actually, all of her lies bother me…especially ones that have been shown to BE lies and she keeps repeating)
the fact that she can't name even ONE newspaper (not even her state's main paper!) that she reads bothers me.
there are so many other issues besides her experience (or lack of, however you want to look at it) that bother me, experience doesn't even come into it.
and what you put forth is simply your opinion…you have no way of knowing how the news orgs would treat Obama if he were a republican.
so please, don't act like you KNOW what would happen.
@ Simply Me: I appreciate your (for this website) quite courageous post and you brought up quite a few good points. There's no denying that there is quite a heavy liberal slant to the postings and commenters on Mollygood but that doesn't mean that the points we raise or disgust we have for Palin is unjustified.
You're right that Couric may have been trying to trip up Palin, but only so we would get her off her talking points and actually get a real sense of what lies beneath the facade. If we wanted a 'soft' interview and talking points, we'd watch the Hannity interview. I want journalists to hit harder. That's their job, especially when they sense bullshit.
We saw the questions Couric asked and they were ones that you would ask any VP candidate (indeed, she asked Biden about the supreme court decisions he disagreed with as well) or ones that would clarify Palin's controversial statements or positions (and there are A LOT of them). It's not her fault that Palin simply does not know or understand enough, as much as Palin and Fox News would like to have us believe it.
Thanks for calmly and intelligently addressing my post, Gabi.
Although many read my post and assumed I am a Palin supporter, I was simply trying to see if people were even willing to concede that the media may have bias (and yes, that would include FOX as well as NBC, etc) and it may be worth taking a step back each time to calmly examine the validity (or maliciousness) of their report/interview. I don't have an opinion yet on who should lead your country, only thought I'd point out how it appears from the outside that people are joining in a feeding frenzy without any reflection. I do appreciate the responses that seem to have been thought through.
What I did find most fascinating about Katie Couric's interviews, is her demeanor over Joe Biden's "Hoover" comment - not being "hardhitting" and pursuing his obvious ignorance on that significant point of history, which could also be attributed to nerves/exhaustion - while doggedly pursuing Sarah Palin's failing. I am sure there are many opposite examples from FOX, et al,- which is why I suggest we may all want to be a bit more circumspect when it comes to these interviews. Just a thought…
@PattyAnne
Homeless citizens have the same rights as any other American. We abolished land ownership requirements to vote by the 1860s. The state of Ohio allows residents to register and vote on the same day, and it is even encouraging this to avoid some of the problems it encountered in 2004 (some students had to wait in line for 10 hours to vote at Kenyon College). There is noting scandalous or illegal about what is going on.
Furthermore, Fox News has an Associated Press report about this on their website. The AP is a wire reporting service that is picked up by thousands of newspapers across the country. It's hardly a secret.
If you don't think that homeless citizens have the right to vote, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about what other attributes should disqualify citizens from exercising their constitutional rights. Maybe a literacy test, or a poll tax? Of course we can always grandfather the "right" folks in. Right?
I for one would totally hit that, evil twin. IN case you actually need to get laid, you know how to find me.
you pepole are just jeluos that sarah pallin is going to win the vise presedint and your not!!!she is a hoky mom and a mom of a retarted spesail baby and she will fight for babys everywhere1!!she is amavrick who will drill for oil and keep America safe for terrists!!!and our solders in iraqu to!!!her and john mcain will show all you libs that your wrong on novembar 5!!!!hahahah!!!!
Thanks, sar. :)
@52, I don't know if you live in Ohio, but I do. The voting requirements state that you must provide a valid address for proof of residency. What they are doing is mailing "confirmation" letters to the addresses provided, and if they receive the letters back unopened, they don't count that vote. So it's not exactly foolproof.
She will always have FOX "news" to fall back on. A venue that is more than happy to allow her to come on a show to repair any damage she did to herself on the other channels.
"Oh, I was merely annoyed when Couric asked me a demeaning question like what papers or magazines I read, like we don't get all the papers and magazines in Alaska that you do in the lower 48. Geepers! (Paraphrasing one of her actual answers, not in that clip.)
She stands for whatever they pour into her vapid head. . .
eye'm sooo jelis of sayruh paylen.
my pastur ses jaysus send her too save dis cuntree frum sinnrs and muslins liek obama
Gawd….she is truly pathetic! Palin is about the scariest thing to show up on the political scene since Dick Cheney. Annoyed?? I'm annoyed that she's wasting so much of our time.
I don't hate Sarah. The thing is, she is running for a position that will replace the President if anything ever happens to him. I don't think she is dumb, I just think that, with everything going on in this country, we all have to pull our heads out of our collective asses and question the intelligence of a man that would pick this woman as his running mate. I know a lot of you conservatives will think I am attacking her, but you have to think, really think. I know Republicans don't give a shit about the poor, but do you give a shit about your own children? This woman could be deciding thier fate.
P.s. Evil Twin? Masturbating in your Mom's basement while hanging from a noose may be great for you, but it's actually not sex.
If that's how you get your rocks off, don't bring me into your reindeer games, weirdo.
Evil Twin? Isn't there a schoolyard you should be cruising right now?
Eat me. Cuz you know you want to.
I can't take it anymore. There are zillions of political blogs out there to surf, if it is politics you seek. I used to come here to get away from politics and enjoy the fluff and escapism of hearing about stupid celebrities. I am a Republican and I DO like Sarah Palin, and I will vote McCain/Palin in November. Obama has so many issues that nobody on THIS site ever talks about and stuff which well hopefully come to light before the election. The criticism of Palin being spewed here is absurd and unfouded. Did any of you critics actually watch the debate? Anyhoo…. I am out of here. I can get my political fix on Ace of Spades and my celebrity fix elsewhere.
Captain Obvious, shouldn't you be somewhere running up some more credit card debt?
I imagine SouthernBelle stamped her little foot at least 3 times during that hissy fit.
southern belle, to paraphrase…
there are a zillion celebrity gossip blogs out there to surf.
if you don't like the political stuff here, skip over it. the writers here are NOT going to change their posting habits because you ask them to. if you'll notice, the political posts receive WAY more comments than any of the other posts; seems most people like them. which means they'll be posted for a long time to come. at least until Palin steps down, gets fired, or simply stops with the ridiculous statements and repeated lies.
what "issues" of Obama do you want to talk about? if you need them to come to light before the election, why not mention them here? show us "libs" what we need to know…or, if you prefer more friendly waters, surely there's a comment section somewhere over at Foxnews.com, or realclearpolitics.com or some other such conservatively slanted site. because, let's face it, that's what you're looking for, and you're just not going to find it here.
and yes, I did watch the debate. and the skewering of Palin is not only accurate, it's deserved.
Wow I did not know that McCain has so much money in contributions, he can afford to pay people to go on GOSSIP BLOGS to tout his campaign.
