Puppies And Rainbows And Butterflies

America is slowly overdosing on Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, but it warms our heart to see he's actually doing some good with his popularity, besides just spending his free time rolling around in money and ruining upcoming episodes of SNL.

Why does his swim cap say VI-S-A? Is that like a new "rent-a-space" or something?

Not sure why w/ his short hair he needs a cap on to teach kids to swim. Heck to even swim laps….Granted, Mr. Phelps does look waaaaayyyy better than the average swimmer in a cap. It keeps the ears tucked in.

OOHH! My test massage went through! stm, I am drinking scotch tonight in your honour because your comment made me spew Zinfandel (red, of course) all over the screen of my eleventybillion year old Mac, while I was downloading some new music onto my Nano™, which was once replaced free of charge (and hassle) by Apple.
How many birds did I kill with that stone?

Jesus christ, that was freaking me out. I was doing some diggin' into someone's blog.
And that someone seriously looks like Jada Pinkett, but I mean that in a good way. Unless you're a Scientologist on the down-low. Which means we would have to kill you. In the fase. Maul you. In the fase.

But yeah, about the topic.. uh.. good.

Thank you for teaching the coloured children how to swim. We drown at much higher rates. In spite of a suburban upbringing and years of lessons, I can't swim to save my life. Literally.

Where's Cullen? That wouldn't be so constructive. I'd just pretend to drown (= go in the deep end) so I could get CPR :) Michael Phelps can teach me how to swim though.

Sorry. I think this is adorable. He's a huge role model, and he's teaching kids that service is important. Also, I'm African American, and I know that many young African Americans are not taught to swim because they don't have access to pools. It makes me happy that he's working with youth of color so they can learn this important skill. Go Michael!!!

I have to add that there are many white people who wouldn't give a little black girl a moment of there time. The fact that Michael is giving her committed attention - the thing that children need more than anything other than food and shelter - is very moving to me. Go Michael!!!
