Something Old

lohanronsonwed

Converted Christian ex-con Michael Lohan says that were his daughter, Lindsay, to marry her girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, it would probably be without his blessing.

"I haven’t heard anything (about an upcoming wedding) from Lindsay, but if she was marrying Sam, I don’t think she’d ask me to walk her down the aisle,” says Michael. “She knows about my (Christian) faith … she just wouldn’t ask."

Yay, sanctimoniousnesses! And hypocrisy! And religions supposedly based on love that simultaneously prevent fathers from truly expressing love for their daughters! Jesus Christ!

*sighs* it's people like that who give Christianity a bad rap…Just because he doesn't "approve" doesn't mean he has to "condemn" gawd…so many narrow minded "Christians" in this world that preach love, and practice hate…I wonder what would have happened to this world if Christ did the same thing? :-P

Why can't he just say it's because he doesn't think his daughter is ready for any marriage, and she's only known this chick for like a second, and also, she looks like she smells. Why do you have to be bothered by her being a…well, a her? There are so many other problems with this relationship.

You may not follow all the rules of the Bible, but there are still many parts in it that spread hate.

Agreed. Just because I believe in Jesus doesn't mean I think everything in the Bible is an arrow toward what I ought to believe. My beliefs are love, unselfishness, and freedom. Not that you asked. But there you have it.

Thanks, it's nice to get a little validation instead of the usual accusations and mocking.

I'm sure LiLo is up at night worrying that daddy doesn't approve of her lifestyle choice. Dina is probably getting fitted for her maid of honor dress right now.

aww sar! there's nothing wrong with being a christian as long as you respect other people's beliefs. sometimes i rag on christian but when i do i'm not talking about people like you, i'm talking about the one's that walk around like they are the authorit on your soul.

Why is he hiding behind his "Christian beliefs" in regards to this? She probably wouldn't ask him for the simple fact that he's a shitty father who would sell her out in a heartbeat for a Big Mac. If he wants her to be happy, maybe he should crawl back under the rock he came from and quit talking about her to the press.

i'd like to add (because i spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about christianity and where people go wrong) that beliefs are beliefs, whether you say you got them from your church, or your bible, or your mom and dad, or your science textbook. you are responsible for your beliefs.
