Sad Stuff

The woman whom fugitive director Roman Polanski raped more than 30 years ago appeared Tuesday at the premiere of a documentary about the notorious attack. Samantha Geimer, who was just 13 when Polanski sexually assaulted her in Jack Nicholson’s Hollywood home, told Fox News that, were she able to say one thing to Polanski, she would tell him, “I’ll bet you wish you never met me.”
After being convicted of statutory rape, Polanski, who was then 44, fled to Europe to avoid jail time. He’s since not set foot in America and won an Oscar.

Ah, sweet forgiveness. Let the healing begin!
A question please: what the fuck was a thirteen-year-old doing in Jack Nicholson’s Hollywood home? And let us not forget that “statutory rape” means simply having sex with an underage person, not physically assaulting them.
Good question Jbonz…..WHAT WAS A 13 YR OLD GIRL DOING AT JACK’S HOME?
Was this the 70s? Those were some fucked up times. I remember seeing pictures of Drew Barrymore at studio 54, because her mom was a fame whore like Dina.
go to the smoking gun, it has all the reports of the night of the rape. in a nut shell, she was there for a photo shoot, got drugged, got raped. polanski was convicted and fled like a coward.
instead of asking why she was there at 13, you should ask why he was hanging out with a 13 year old at his age.

PERFECT, friend!
Um, jbonz, you’re a tool: “And let us not forget that “statutory rape” means simply having sex with an underage person, not physically assaulting them.”
Fist of all, not all rapes involve bloody eyes or bruises. In fact, in a lot of them the “force” involved is actually the fear of force because of the power of the person that is in control–a boss, a husband, or a friend. In the case of CHILDREN, it’s fear of an adult, or in this case, a famous one. Children do not have the emotional or mental capacity to give sexual consent to adults, legally or ethically. That’s why Polanski was convicted. She didn’t have the right to say yes and he certainly knew better than the take her yes as legal. You should take a rape awareness class–I think you could probably benefit from it. In fact, it might help you not make a stupid mistake later. http://www.rainn.org/get-infor.....al-assault
Second of all, a thirteen year old was there trying to have a good time, swept up in the glamour of movies stars, like I’m sure a lot of us tried to do as kids. Is that a stupid situation to put yourself in as a child? Yes. Is that a stupid position to allow children to be in (ahem, parents and Jack)? Yes. Does that mean that she deserved to be raped? NO! The only person responsible for the rape is the rapist. In every case, in every rape, it is not the fault of the victim. Polanski (and R. Kelly and name your famous guy loving his attention and power) was responsible for what happened that night and should be in jail right now, not winning Oscars.
Before you go around lightly discussing this topic, think about how you would feel if this were your mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, or even you… you might be a woman or you might be a man who has been assaulted, I don’t know. Regardless, the facts show that probably one of the females in your life has been assaulted or will be in their lifetime (1 in 3 women) and you may never know… especially if you make statements like this that tell them you might think something they did made them deserve what happened to them.
jbonz, let me break it down for you. Assault is unwanted touching. Rape is the name given to sexual assault. If sex is not consensual, it is rape. 13-year-olds cannot give consent. Et voila, sex with a minor is sexual assault. We expect adults to know right from wrong and not fuck children. So maybe think before you blame the victim.
Read: high five.
Can I ask about the parents? Where the fuck were they?
Snacks, my guess is Dina Lohaning it up with Jack et al.
If I remember correctly, he drugged her with a qualude or 2 before he attacked her.
Trying to get a talk show or something? That’s pretty low.
SnackySmores: Drew is only 33ish. So while you’re right, she was partying with her mom at clubs as a 12-year-old, it wasn’t in the 70s.
It’s really fucked up that men like this rape kids but because they have money, they don’t get prosecuted at all, or get off with statuatory rape.
There was a JUDGE in Georgia two years ago that raped a 13- and a 14-year-old girls in foster care. To my knowledge, asshole has avoided court altogether, can’t find anything on the case. But when the news all broke, he was only going to be charged with statuatory rape anyway.
I didn’t realize that Studio 54 stayed open until 1986. Thank god for Wikipedia.
Polanski for being a rapist should have been eliminated from winning an Oscar or anything else. People like these should not be honored in anyway it’s an insult to the victims.
Man, I love mollygood.com. The only gossip blog I know that doesn’t condone misogyny and actually calls people out on it.
Totally agree. However hollywood doesn’t have much morals or care for the law. Look at the love for Woody Allen. They gave Polanski a standing ovation when he won the oscar.
I studied up on this after my posting.
You are all right. I was wrong. She was gotten drunk on wine and Roman pressured her into having sex. She was an innocent victim.
I didn’t mean that no wrong was done. But considering the times and the loose morals that abound in Hollywood, I didn’t think that it was violently forceable rape, but a matter of Roman having sex with a loose, willing underage girl whose parents weren’t keeping an eye on her.
I was wrong.
jbonz, I respect what you did here. (@18)
I have always enjoyed your comments here, and on other websites.
I know that doesn’t add anything to your retirement account, but I had to say it. :-)
I may still not agree with you but, wow, jbonz, lots of respect. You didn’t have to say anything, but it speaks volumes that you did.
