Clocks and Boas and Chickens, Oh My!

A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila: "You still have a shot at love. Are you interested?"

Tila asks the same thing every time she hands out a stupid key on a string, and after 20 contestants have passed her test, the question becomes repetitive and annoying. Also, sure, everyone's probably interested in a shot at love. But that's not what she's selling. If she were to ask the real question — "You still have a shot at chlamydia with a washed up MySpace whore. Are you interested?" — we doubt the answer would always be "yes." But, then again, I wouldn't put anything past these people who would do anything to be on TV.

Since when do we have an appetite for reality television?

Here is one of the reality show gimmic phrases from back in my day:

(contestant's name here), Come On Down!! Your the NEXT contestant on The Price Is Right!!

    Cue the festive music.

Much joy and jubilation rippled through out the studio audience after this gimmic phrase.

This reality show might still even be on the air to this day. I think it has a new host.

That IS more of a GAME SHOW. But it is real. As it were. More real than these "reality" shows.

I think what spurred me on this tangent is that I would much rather guess the price of a refridgerator or a washer.

I have a great chance of winning the washer or refridgerator. I can then take that prize home and put it to good use.

I find this scenario much more appealing than the one where I may win a rose, or a clock necklace from some guy and then get to stay in his stable for one more week of national humiliation.

I caught the last five minutes of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious one time when I was waiting for the show after it to come on. When they said "It’s time to hang up your boa" I busted out laughing. I had to rewind the Tevo so my roommate could hear it to. That's just all kinds of klassy.

When I just read you were in Texas all these stereotypical thoughts ran through my head…I want to go there one day to see if any of them are true. I've done that most of my adult life (England, Europe) and it's fascinating. I'm from Canada, and it's amazing the preconceived ideas we get about each other. Hopefully I'll get the chance to check Texas out someday.

Sorry, not reality show related. :-)

I wonder if someday these shows will be fully sustained only by the audience of bloggers watching to make fun of them. A little self-renewing cycle.

OMG Whitney! Did you miss the Farmer Wants A Wife where Farmer Matt asks the four remaining girls to stick their arm up their cows vagina to tell whether the cow was pregnant and the girl who's cow was not had to go back to the city. That sounds like THE WORSE elimination ever. One poor girl had to stick her arm in the cow's Britney only to be sent packing.
