Ike Turner, the Grammy winner behind what is widely considered to be music's first rock and roll song, died today at his home in San Diego. He was 76 years old.

    The patron saint of wife-beating has gone on to his just reward. Somehow this doesn't choke me up as much as when Tammy Faye bit it a couple of months ago.

    It makes me mad when talented people are assholes. It's ok if they are coked or crazy like Jim Morrison or Van Gough. He had good music, but his personal life made it too hard to want to listen

    I so loved that lady's big heart. She seemed like the kind of woman that you'd like to have over on a lazy Saturday afternoon. And you wouldn't feel uneasy if you had a pile of dishes in your kitchen sink from breakfast. She seemed like that type of lady.
