Ryan Seacrest got very touchy during last night's American Idol results show when talk turned to the Paula Abdul snafu heard 'round the world. Instead of confronting the situation head-on, Ryan insisted on getting defensive and simply saying that the rumors aren't true. Um … except there were about 100 rumors going around, and that doesn't clear anything up. But nice try.
So who got kicked to the curb?
Brooke White was finally put out of her misery and voted off the show. Congratulations, America: You've finally broken someone to the point where she can't even make it through a single song. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
In other news: After being forced to perform his second song after Paula already told him she hated it (oops!), Jason Castro found a small glimmer or relief last night in being the first contestant declared safe. Now let's just hope he nails next week's rock 'n' roll theme.

I actually like the way he handled that. Of course she's on something- to deny it is silly. But it's also kinda sweet, like a protective big brother. If I was as fucked up as she was, I'd probably appreciate someone standing up and defending the honor I lacked. Come on- she's not gonna get better, so let's just make her slow spiral a comfortable one. Right, Larry Birkhead?
