Good god, the rumors are true! Charlie Sheen is in fact the highest paid actor on television, commanding a mind-boggling $825,000 per episode of his sitcom Two and a Half Men.

Serious question now: Who watches that show? We don't know a single person – not one – who watches Two and Half Men. Are you a fan? If so, please explain why Charlie Sheen is worth almost a million dollars a week.

I don't know about that kind of cash, but I also always thought it was bullshit the kind of dough Seinfeld pulled in. The show is decent, especially for CBS.

Definitely there are some really corny parts, but it's not very often you see a family sitcom on an old people network that talks about hookers and sluts the same way other shows talk about fabric softener. But that's just me, maybe I'm an old softie.

Yeah, but Seinfeld was worth watching. I watched like fifteen minutes of this show with a kid I was babysitting and he even called it "crap." Then he called Sheen a "snitch." YES!

You can definitely make an argument that it's crap, but I'm in the minority that would also argue that Seinfeld, by and large, was NOT worth watching. A show about nothing? Madness!

i hate seinfeld. one of the reasons i don't have cable is because i don't need 25 channels that play seinfeld re-runs all the time.

the BF watches it because he doesn't have cable.

also we feel bad for that kid who isn't a good actor, which obviously was a gamble since they hired him when eh was like, 5. there's something gruesome and enjoyable about watching him…

My BF's grandparents really seem to like the show. They are the only people I know who watch it. I've seen probably like 5 episodes at this point. It's not AWFUL to watch, but then again, I'll watch anything. The whole feel of the show seems about 15 years behind, it's just very old and stale.

Hated Seinfeld. Love 2 1/2 Men. Why? I've know so many shallow, creepy, transparent jerks like Charlie (including Charlie) that it's familiar to me. Like hanging out with people I know. Yeah, I need a life. Someone else's, preferably.

Clearly, he makes that much money for a reason. Maybe you should watch the show, then pass judgement. The writing is top-notch, which is more than can be said for the people who normally post comments on this site.

Because ALL rich people DESERVE the amount of money they have.

We record this show and then watch it when our brains can't handle anything good. I do find it entertaining, though. Plus, we have only 1 tivo in a house with one HGTV nut and one nerd TV/Adult Swim nut. Please don't p0wn me.

Ms. jones, are you Charlie Sheen? You are aren't you.

I watched a few episodes and didn't care for it. I wanted to like it. I like him and Jon Cryer, bit just couldn't get into it. I also thin Seinfeld is overrated. Yeah there are some great episodes but anytime a show gets forced in my face as the greatest thing ever it make me want to not watch it.

My husband and I check out past seasons on DVD from our library….we love this show. It's funny, risque, and gives us a good laugh before we go to sleep. No, Charlie Sheen doesn't deserve that much, but then I don't believe ANY celebrity deserves that much.

I think I've seen a teensy bit of this show. It couldn't have been that special, because all I can remember are images of the boy and Charlie, maybe sitting at a piano? I don't know.

I still say the greatest show ever is Doctor Who. Thirty years of some of the best storytelling ever. I can't believe how incredible David Tennant is as the current Doctor, too. I guarantee he's not making anywhere near as much as Charlie Sheen, though.

I didn't read any of the other comments (I'm working here, lol), but Charlie Sheen sucks on that show. He basically plays himself. The other characters on the show are great and I don't want to punish them just because Charlie Sheen is on the show. It's a funny show to watch when you're winding down from work. I still don't know why Charlie Sheen makes so much money from it, however.

Awww Skaoi. Nerds unite. My dad dragged me to a Dr Who CONVENTION when I was a kid. I went into a tardis. My aunt knit my brother a tom baker(bakker?) scarf. That's going to give a girl issues. Oversharing. Anyway DT is the shiz.

I like the girl who plays the next door neighbor on 2 1/2 men… is she in anything else, maybe something worth viewing?

i do agree that charlie's basically playing himself but the show is hilarious! it's the writers who deserve to get paid more than charlie. or it's the teachers and the soldiers and the cops ya know i could go on forever. but the writers come up with filthy jokes one after another that censors can't even criticize because they're worded so well that no child would have a clue what they're saying. brilliant stuff.

I watch the show, it's not too bad. Charlie is definitely the worst part of it. I love Angus, Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor & the show wouldn't be worth watching if not for the great Conchata Ferrell.

No actor is worth that much. When an asshole like Jerry Seinfeld makes the kind of money he has (enough to support that ho of a wife of his too), we can all agree that actors are paid too much.

I can't stand Seinfeld. Being a child of the 80s and growing up on the sitcoms of that time, the true era of sitcoms ended for me when Everybody Loves Raymond ended. I loved Newhart, Cheers (best show ever), Frasier, Golden Girls, Night Court and early Designing Women. Frasier, Cheers, Golden Girls and ELR are all must see TV for me still.

Two and 1/2 Men does in a pinch and is definitely better than a rerun of Seinfeld any day.

the chick who plays the girl next door was amazing in heavenly creatures. i don't know how she got stuck on 2 men and a rapidly aging teenager.

i loved seinfeld. but i can't watch it anymore because after watching shows like arrested development, the office, and thirty rock, shows with laugh tracks make me want to eat my own hair. laugh tracks are so damn distracting. don't tell me when to laugh. i'm smart enough to know what i think is funny. assclowns.

This speaks to one of the great problems facing this nation. The so-called elite on the coasts, ie NY and LA are completely out of touch with the rest of the nation. Though I share many political, social, and cultural beliefs with the coasties, you people have got to start at least trying to understand the red-staters.

Two and a half men is not great. Nor is it awful. Legitimately, it is one of the top 7-8 sitcoms on the air right now. What is better, really? Christine, Office, HIMYM, BBT, Scrubs,
(maybe) Entourage, and Samantha Who. And the sad part is, all of the above shows are really niche shows that Do not have broad appeal to viewers.

Sitcoms are not that profitable during their initial run. Their real money is in syndication. Two is one of those shows that middle America will watch whenever it is on. Much like how LA and the NYC feel about Seinfeld. Seinfeld was great, but not living in NYC, or any City, it was hard for me to connect with the show. Two is making big money for CBS in syndication. Charlie is entitled to his cut, since it was his infamy that got the show on the air in the first place.

Capitalism dictates that people are worth what the market will pay for them. This is society's failing.

Sometimes, when I am in the kitchen, I realize that the kids have left the TV on and Two and a Half Men is playing. And I can't find the controller. And I'm too lazy to walk over and change the channel. So I usually just stab myself in the face a few times to kill the pain. That's how much I hate that show. OH! Charlie Sheen is a gaunt, ill-looking womanizer! Funny!
