Oh boy! This is happening, everyone:
Britney Spears' manager Larry Rudolph has finally confirmed the pop star is currently recording a new album.
Spears was rumoured to be hard at work in the recording studio with music producers Jim Beanz and Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins earlier this month.
…
But Rudolph has confirmed Spears "is spending her summer in the recording studio, working on a brand new album."He adds, "She's working with a team of top-notch producers and songwriters and we're very excited about what she's accomplished so far …"
Wonderful! By the way, did you notice that Mr Rudolph didn't at all mention a team of top-notch mental health professionals or the stability of a loving family? This is what anyone with eyes and a brain calls "a vicious cycle." But hey, look on the bright side: new, mediocre dance music!

she wouldnt be working on an album if she wasnt already working on her mental health state on her own time.
@ southiejpd
Of course she wouldn't. Because she and her handlers have always been so rational in the past.
She has reconciled with her parents and has gotten overnight visitation with her sons so obviously she has made some progress. Now she is back to working and doing something to make HER feel like she is contributing to society ('cause you know Cord that EVERYONE needs a little mediocre dance music every once in a while)in her own way.
Cord, why are you such an ass? Always leaving out the "Best." Dubelya, Tee, Eff, man.
Dubelya. This is my new favorite word. I'm just over here playing with my chickens when BAM! New hot word!
Anyway is that a recent picture?? Her hair looks amazing!
Is it her hair? Has that much time gone by? Why doesn't guy's armpit hair keep growing?
That pic is from December before last (when she appeared on Letterman, I think) right when she announced her divorce from Kevin. Embarassed I even know that. But she looked great that night. And everyone had high hopes of her rising from Kevin's ashes. This was before we knew about the crazy.
Also, I'm with PP. Everyone needs some dance music (and Britney's is quite fun, you know it). Cord needs to lighten up (or light one up).
@Cord
You call it a vicious cycle, I call it a return to the workplace. Besides, it's not Larry Rudolph's place to be weighing on Britney Spears mental state. He manages her CAREER and that's the only topic he should ever address in public. Why does the public need a health progress report anyway?
@ everyone
HA! Who knew Britney Spears fans were so loyal and aggressive?!?!?!?! Keep keepin' on, you guys.
Get it?? We're rabid dogs, ya'll! Who knew Cord would try to shame us for our uncool pop music sensibilities?!?!! (I kinda had a feeling he would…so LCD) Now Cord, don't sulk! Your readers are gonna call you out when you use your rhetorical prowess to be assy and contrary for no reason. It's cuz we care. Honest.
I better duck down and fast.
The pendulum is swinging back, and I don't want to get hit in the head.
I guess asking her to fall into obscurity and raise her children is too much to ask. She has to get back into the spolight (the last thing she needs) and continue aurally raping the public with her "music".
Does the world really need an Spears album? What's the point? What can she offer musically that can't be offered by some other pop tartlet? It's not like we're all waiting on her putting out her very own Sgt. Pepper …
Blah.
Man I want a Pop Tart and a Dr. Pepper. Why is that?
Cord, why has the great Best forsaken us? Or is the Best hanging out with Recent Comments?
I had a strawberry pop tart for breakfast.
Cord wasn't being "assy" or "contrary for no reason." He stated that he wishes she would finally take care of her mental health (and it is clear that working on albums isn't the right antidote.) But, whatever, say Cord is being assy and contrary for no reason, while you are the one being assy and contrary for no reason. And he didn't "try to shame us." You're just feeling a little insecure.
Fess up Ilz, you want Cord to try to shame you a bit. Dirty!
Exactly, Alice. If you like her music, you have the producers to thank. Britney contributed nothing of substance.
Lisa- I guess some people believe that watersports are "shameful." I think it combines sex with necessary urination. I like to call that efficent. Thank you. Thank you.
EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
You have a future as an efficency consultant, Ilz, that's for sure.
and you guys got mad at me for my brandon davis comment. i have been trumped. well done ilz, well done.
I'm all about saving myself for the man I love. You know, so he can piss all over me. ROMANCE!!
By the way, I'm kidding. Anyone else see that Vice Don't in response to the girl wearing the "pee all you can pee" shirt? I'm trying to find it… it's like "People who like to be peed on are shit. Even shit doesn't like to be peed on. But that's life when you're shit."
As much as I enjoy Britney's earlier hits, I think Cord brings up a valid point. Parenting is one of the hardest things I have ever undertaken and I only have one child under the age of three. Britney's (And especially her parents, shame on you Lynn and Jamie) first priority should be getting herself back into a healthy lifestyle and becoming a better parent to her children. She should move closer to Kevin and try to co-parent her children so they can become successful adults. Children are the beginning of responsibility and Britney needs to step up to the plate.
Britney is getting more english by the day….but she has gone too far this time…. Stealing Dame Helen Mirrens hooters is a fucking outrage…
where'd those cans come from?
