The wildly talented and hyper-enthusiastic Fantasia Barrino—the winner of American Idol in 2004—recently spoke with People magazine about her "Rules for Idol Wannabes."
"Have fun. Stay prayed up. And give it your all," she tells PEOPLE. "Go out and just be yourself. Act like it's your last time. Sing it." Fantasia should know. She's been getting raves opening for Oscar winner Jamie Foxx on his tour. During her recent stop at New York City's Madison Square Garden, the The New York Times gushed she had a "fierce set of screaming R&B" and the New York Post gushed about her "passionate cover of Prince's 'Purple Rain.'"
While it may be important to "stay prayed up," I'd like to go ahead and remind hopeful Idol contestants that they should probably go ahead and learn to read before starting to pray up. OK, guys? Reading and writing should be higher priorities than staying prayed up.

i agree, but that is a little bitchy. I guess praying is the only thing an illiterate person can do to get an edge. did she just sign the ai contracts without reading them first, or did she have a literate ho read it to her? does she sign her name with an x?

I'm about to piss some people off, but I cannot for the life of me see what people see in Fantasia. I think she sucks. I was absolutely floored when the judges kissed her ass all season. He voice is grating and painful. She sounds like Macy Gray, only without the songwriting ability.
