Expect Cocaine

We've always wished we had gotten to know the 70s. From most of what we've heard and read, it seems like everything was practically just as terrible as it is now, but at least back then a person could numb their sadness with copious amounts of hard drugs in peace.

Hollywood loves the 70s, too, which is why it's putting together yet another look at infamous coke den/nightclub/swinger's club/crime spree Studio 54, this time with a television show.

Showtime is preparing "Studio," a drama series project centering on the iconic New York nightclub Studio 54. The Hollywood Reporter says Bryan Singer is in talks to direct the pilot if his schedule permits.

"Studio" would focus on Studio 54 co-founder Steve Rubell and is to take off during the months leading to the club's April 1977 opening.

However, "Studio," which is in development, will be a fictional series and not a biopic or docudrama, notes THR. Rubell will be the only real person featured, with the rest of the characters fictional or composite.

The 1970's would have been a blast if you were uninhibited. Back in the day when cocaine wasn't additive and before sex could kill you.

Been there, did that, lived that and yeah, it was a blast…dance on the table fun. I look back on that time and I'm amazed we lived through it all….it was a great time to be alive.

Speaking as one who was born in the fifties I must say that the 70s were the absolute worst fucking decade of the century. Just horrible from start to finish.

Sticky…somehow I just can't get behind that statement, I've always envied people who were lucky enough to be in their twenties or thirties in that decade…then again, I was born in the Reagan era and we all know how sucky that time was and the legacy he has left us with, bleh.

Aside from wanting to grow up to be Natalie Wood. I also wanted to grow up and go to studio 54. Complete with a Bob Mackie original and sequined beret. Unfortch when I was old enough to go to clubs everyone was wearing Mc Hammer pants and Studio 54 was long gone.
