Isn't There Easier Ways to Dislike McCain?

(Click image to enlarge) Not to sound get Oliver Stone-y on you guys, but does this still from a McCain ad Higher have people in the background holding up letters to spell the word "hang?"

And before everyone goes nuts, yes, it's obviously a piece of Obama's "change" slogan that is being held aloft, but the ad never pulls back the dark edges of the shot to reveal it.

See the spot for yourself, after the jump:

Um, that's pretty f#cked up. It doesn't even make sense that it's got fuzzy black edges like that, unless they're trying to make the ad appear to be from the eyes of someone with cataracts.

It does look kind of intentional. I mean it's so obvious and out of place in the rest of the ad. What a weird, weird thing for someone to do.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. It's only a matter of time until they start condescendingly saying that he "speaks so well" in McCain's ads.

of all the Final Cut masks in the world, they had to use a diagonal one…SO intentional. And, is McCain's logo not a little too close to french fry empire McCain's? Though, he probably is made out of frozen potatoes…

Totally off topic but did anyone else read the comments on Jossip and see the name "I hate the fact that I have a hairless vagina". Ha! What a way to start a Friday.

I would like to say it was unintentional, but when it comes to the Republican party they haven't hit a low they weren't willing go to yet. If it was done on purpose, they should be ashamed of themselves. I know thats asking a lot from the party that does all it can to blocks black voters from casting their ballet at every major election.

Not just black voters. Voters who see the only race as the human one.

I'm not going to lie… I clicked on it and stared for a short while… didn't notice the "hang." Maybe the creators are just slow, like me.

Well to be fair, if they didn't have that black shadow on the top left, it would read, "CHANG" and then the Orientals would be all up in arms.

It sounds like you're almost hoping that they are doing this on purpose. That's sort of sad.

I don't think it was intentional. I think that looking for something that isn't there is.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean people aren't out to get you.

No. 15 Surgeonsgirl says:

When you edit a 30 second commercial piece for the Republican candidate for president, everything that appears on screen is intentional. They certainly didn't pull that shot out of a hat…someone had to fish it out, explain why it was good to use, and then include it in the final cut of the ad.

Political ads ooze intention (subliminal or not) like Hairless Vagina oozes regret

That sounds like something you read on a fortune cookie.

Not sure if I want to add the "in bed" on the end of that…
