Lil Wayne, the emotionally stunted rapper who has no control over his own life, is about to take charge of another: A son. Upon accepting an award at the BET Hip Hop Awards over the weekend, he announced that he has a baby on the way and asked everyone to pray for him. It's going to take lots of prayers, dude.
Baldwin Hills, the teen-focused reality show that is marketed as BET’s answer to Laguna Beach and The Hills, premiered with a respectable (for BET) 1.5 million viewers on Tuesday. As 2007-2008 BET premieres go, the show comes in second place after Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, meaning troubled R&B stars are more compelling to BET viewers than upper-middle-class kids and their overbearing parents. But how do Baldwin Hills’ second season premiere numbers compare to its counterpart at MTV?
During last night's BET awards, Alicia Keys reintroduced the youth of America to three amazing girl groups: SWV, En Vogue and TLC. Some of the ladies still have it and others (SWV, we're looking at you) do not. But even at their worst, all of these groups put The Pussycat Dolls to shame.

The annnual BET Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, bringing with it a bevy of women who were taller than their dates. An exception of course being Beyonce, who shined in a dress fashioned out of a trash bag and LeBron James whose girlfriend Savannah looks like she might still be in high school. The big winners for the evening were Kanye West, Jamie Foxx (unfortunately, someone stop giving this ego machine awards, please), Mary J. Blige, and newcomer Chris Brown. I think we can all see that the big loser of the night was whatever poor animal Andre 3000 killed and attached to his pants.
