BRATS IN BEVERLY HILLS BEAT BRATS IN MANHATTAN "The famous zip is still hip. Young auds returned to '90210' on Tuesday, as CW's update of the iconic Fox sudser 'Beverly Hills 90210' set network records for a premiere. In its debut, according to preliminary Nielsen estimates, '90210' averaged a 2.6 rating/7 share in adults 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers overall, winning in the net's target demo of adults 18-34 (3.0/9) as well as women 18-34 (4.3/12). And in a good sign, '90210' built its audience a bit from its first hour to its second."

Tyra Banks and some of her top models attempted to show off how to smile with your eyes at the CW Network 2008 Upfronts last night in NYC. It's safe to say Tyra is still the only one who has mastered that concept, but we applaud Anya (second from right) for making a solid attempt. The rest seem to have just given up hope.

'GOSSIP GIRL' VIEWERS TOO FUTURISTIC "Defying the conventional wisdom these days, the CW has decided to hype the upcoming return of 'Gossip Girl' by opting not to stream episodes of the show on the Web. Indeed, execs seem worried that the show may be too popular online, say media reports today. Most networks … have been hyping Internet streaming as a key component of the marketing and monetization of series and the show is regularly among the most downloaded shows on iTunes and is off the chart in terms of Web buzz. Yet, CW execs and those at parent companies CBS Corp. and Warner Bros. have been frustrated that raw Nielsen ratings haven’t been higher."
BRING BACK DYLAN! "The CW network is developing a contemporary spinoff of Aaron Spelling's seminal 1990s teen soap 'Beverly Hills, 90210,' sources said. Details on the project — including which if any of the characters on the original series will make the transition to the spinoff — remain sketchy. The spinoff, which is close to getting a writer, has been put on the fast track by the network. It is expected to decide whether to order a pilot by the end of the month."
