Like every emo kid that came before him, Pete Wentz thinks his son's name, Bronx Mowgli, is above everyone else's comprehension:
'I feel weird — people have all these ideas of what it means now,' Wentz says of his offspring's name during a phone call today to E! News' Ryan Seacrest. 'I think it's kind of cool to leave the narrative the way it is. People are stoked or pissed or whatever … I don't think anybody knows the real story of why or how.'
'We came up with the idea Bronx, we'd been throwing it back and forth a while ago,' he says. As for the origin of the middle name? 'The Jungle Book is something me and Ashlee bonded over. It's really cool.'
Trust us, Pete, you're not nearly as ground-breaking or cool as you'd like to think you are.

IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME "[Larry] Birkhead will be showing off his parenting skills in a new reality show, to air on E! in 2009. He says Tori Spelling (who stars on So noTORIous with husband Dean McDermott) convinced him to do the show, telling him: 'Dean and I will support you. Why not? Your life is out there anyway.'"

DENISE RICHARDS: SHE WAS RIGHT "Denise Richards is coming back to the small screen! Her E! reality series, Denise Richards: It's Complicated, has been picked up for a second season, the network confirmed Wednesday. An official network nod comes more than a month after Richards herself told Usmagazine.com the show would return."

Time to distract ourselves from the sad state of America yet again: There's a Hills love triangle! Way more important than that stupid bailout.
So Audrina moved out of the house she shared with Lauren and Lo, and nobody really knew why, but A and LC insisted they were still on good terms. Enter Ted Casablanca, quite possibly the world's worst gossip, who decided to spin a tale of Audrina and Lauren fighting over the same man. Believable enough … until he decided to make the Casanova none other than Justin Bobby, the knowledgeable hobo who occasionally creeps onto the show and pretends to like Audrina for some camera time. We love him because he regularly spits out nuggets of wisdom like, "Truth and time tells all." Lauren, however, does not enjoy him.
Ted, who is much like a child making up a bedtime story, said that Lauren and Justin Bobby hooked up behind Audrina's back, but JB later spilled the beans while LC denied it. Don't believe Ted? Here's proof: The girls removed each other from their MySpace top friends. Gasp!
Oh wait, hold the phone: Ted just changed his mind: CONTINUED »

You may recall our celebratory post a few weeks back when it was reported that Denise Richards' dreadful reality show was canceled. We spoke too soon.
According to Denise, "it's coming back for another season" and they will begin filming in a few months. This confirms it: Despite the glorious savior Joel McHale, E! truly has absolutely not taste whatsoever. And this is coming from someone who can stomach a lot of bad television.

Pamela Anderson, on the premiere of her new reality show, Girl on the Loose, on Sunday: "PEOPLE BETTER BE WATCHNG THE OLYMPICS INSTEAD OF MY SHOW!!! You know how E replays things over and over — if people are interested it's always around."
America took Pam's advice and turned away in droves! In fact, more viewers tuned in for the season premiere of C-grade schlock Sunset Tan than for GotL, which you better check out soon if you have any interest at all. Contrary to what Pammy thinks, it's unlikely it will "always" be around.

Sad news for Denise Richards and Joel McHale, good news for the rest of us: Denise Richards [colon] It's Complicated has officially been canceled. Turns out even E! wasn't desperate enough to keep the unlikeable mother of two on the air. And we can't blame the network: We sit through a lot of reality TV, but this show was just plain unwatchable.

BECAUSE NOTHING SAYS 'CHIC' LIKE A SIDE PONY "Kim Vo … told E! News exclusively that he just may be creating three VMA looks for [Britney Spears]. … The first look would obviously be for the red carpet. Vo says he and Brit are still 'feeling out' ideas about how that will look. The second style would be for the show itself, probably something 'more chic, like a side ponytail.' And look No. 3 would be for her PERFORMANCE! That’s right, we said performance. For such an event, Vo and Brit want something 'more quintessential Britney.'"
In what is sure to be one of the most groundbreaking interviews of our time, Joel McHale stopped by Late Night with Conan O'Brien to discuss the really important matters, like the Kardashians and the art of Bedazzling. But what really makes Joel awesome is the fact that he isn't afraid to make comments like this about his own network: "E! will walk into a needle exchange and ask someone if they want their own show." (Which, to be fair, is accurate.)
• The most annoying reality show phrase in the history of television. [DListed]
• Amy Winehouse finally admits she took heroin while in rehab. Good to know she's taking her health and recovery seriously. [ICYDK]
• Speaking of Amy, she punched a fan. Nope, we're not recycling a story from last week — it just happened again. [Yeeeah]
• Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy share the same swimsuit, and we can't decide who looks beter. [HT]
• Who does E! think has the best beach body of all time? (Hint: We beg to differ.) [INO]
• Suri Cruise is starting to sprout her Scientology antenna. [PS]

Apparently it's Joel McHale Day here at Mollygood, and we're OK with that because he trumps the Hogans/Spears/Lohans any day. Joel, who says he sometimes feels like he's "doing the Lord's work," gave an awesome interview with The A.V. Club where he provided many, many gems, chief among them this: "On Flavor Of Love, when a woman took a dump on the stairs, I mean, that's like J.R. being shot on Dallas, or like maybe the last episode of M*A*S*H. It's a milestone on television that's covered with chlamydia."
Seriously, he's our favorite celebrity ever. Click through for lots more. CONTINUED »
DO YOU BELIEVE HER? "Kirsten Dunst is opening up about why she checked into a Utah treatment center last year. 'I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse,' the actress, 26, tells E! in a new interview. 'I went there for depression.'"

E! celebrated Memorial Day by honoring those who fought and died for our country with two new shows depicting the strength and character of the everyday American: Living Lohan and Denise Richards: It's Complicated.
Both Denise and Dina Lohan have stated that they agreed to these shows in an effort to set the record straight and allow the public to have a glimpse into their real lives. You see, they are just like everyone else: Dina wakes up each morning and, over her cup of coffee, peruses every tabloid to find anything involving the Lohans. And then there's Denise, who tries to breed her pigs because she has nothing better to do. Seriously, that's what the entire episode was about.
It goes without saying these shows do the ladies no favors, but the real victims here are the viewers. Click through for clips from each show. CONTINUED »
WE STILL DON'T BUY IT "Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon aren't just dreamlovers anymore. Family member Linda Cannon has confirmed to E! News that the couple are, in fact, married. 'Yes, we know,' she says. 'He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him.'"

Three-time ex-wife Pamela Anderson somehow continues fooling the entertainment world into believing she's relevant and interesting. The passable bikini model and horrible actress has just signed a seven-figure deal to star in her own reality show on E!. Reportedly, the program will focus on Anderson's "quest to make a splash in the acting world," which her complete lack of talent will make both funny and heartbreaking (but mostly heartbreaking).

Granted, The Soup is hilarious and irreverent and very well put together. But that being said, does anyone else worry that tons of great comedic parts are slipping through Joel McHale's fingers while he toils away on the same network that's hired Dina Lohan to run her ridiculous mouth? This man should be doing more than Burger King commercials.
After the jump, more pics of McHale at last night's premiere of The Hammer.

MORE JOELS! "The Soup host Joel McHale, 36, and his wife Sarah have welcomed their second son. The new baby, born [Wednesday], joins big brother Edward Roy, 2. A name and details have not been released."

Ali Lohan is a brave soul. Not only are she and her mother Dina confronting the fact that they "have no choice" but to star in a reality show — the 14-year-old is also shedding light on premature aging, a disease also affecting her sister Lindsay.
