AFTER 12 YEARS, 'KING OF THE HILL' CANCELED "Thirteen has proven not-so-lucky for Fox's veteran animated comedy 'King of the Hill.' After several previous brushes with cancellation, the network has opted not to renew the series beyond its current 13th season. In April, Fox picked up 13 more episodes from the 20th Century Fox TV-produced show, which are wrapping production."

Coolest President Candidate Ever

Barack Obama is making a repeat appearance on The Daily Show this Wednesday guys!

The interview, combined with the highly anticipated(?) 30 minute infomercials Obama bought time for on NBC, Fox, and CBS tomorrow, means that ABC is the only major network (besides the CW, which only counts if you are voting Chuck Bass for prez) not featuring anything Obama-related in their prime-time lineup.

So what possible reason is there for ABC not airing a Barack-tastic Wednesday?

GOB GOES BACK TO PRIMETIME "Fox may soon be back in business with Arrested Development star Will Arnett. According to sources familiar with the conversations, the network is in final negotiations on a major talent/development deal with Mr. Arnett, who played George 'Gob' Bluth II on the late Fox sitcom from 2003 until 2006. As part of the agreement, Fox will develop a series for Mr. Arnett to star in—very likely a comedy—or cast him in an existing project."

Still Won't Come Clean and Say 'Juno' Was Overhyped

Peter Chernin, president of white slavery outfit News Corp, told a group gathered for a media conference on Tuesday that too much "dumb money" has glutted the movie market with bad product.

News Corp, of course, owns 20th Century Fox, whose current releases, Mirrors, The Rocker and Babylon AD, have an average rating of 19 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Unfortunately, nobody thought to shove this fact in Petey Dumb Money's face before he disappeared in a puff of black, foul-smelling smoke.

Solange Knowles made an embarrassing on-air mistake last week during an interview for the Las Vegas Fox station, but she didn't apologize. Instead, she took to YouTube to defend herself, critique the "level of journalism right now" and instruct the folks at the Fox station to stop "jockin' Jay-Z." They didn't like that too much.

Quit your bitching, Common American, you're not the only one in dire financial straits. Rupert Murdoch and his secret organization of hateful propagandists, Fox, have also fallen on tough times. What Happens in Vegas, the company's most successful film of the summer, only made $80 million domestically and just $215 million in the rest of the world. That's barely a quarter of a billion dollars. How is Rupe supposed to eat?!

The Aging Idiot Box

oldpeopletv

According to media research firm Magna Global, the median age of television viewers is now 50-years-old, older than ever before and one year outside the all-important 18-49 demographic. Of the top five networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and CW) CBS's viewership is the most crotchety, with a median age of 54. By contrast, the CW – home of Gossip Girl – has a fan base with a median age 20 years less than that.

Why are couch potatoes graying? Because the olds don't know how to "googlize" things, nor do they get what those darn "virus videos" are all about.

"The median ages of the broadcast networks keep rising, as traditional television is no longer necessarily the first screen for the younger set," [a spokesperson for Magna Global] wrote.

The absolute oldest viewership of all ad-supported cable networks is that of Fox News' daytime and prime time lineup. Presumably that's also the viewership most likely to be "sick of all your lip" and racist.

OH (ERNEST)NO "Wilmer Valderrama is back at Fox in a new comedy. Fox has ordered a pilot for "The Emancipation of Ernesto," a one-hour project starring Valderrama as guileless innocent embarking on an epic quest to find his father amid a Los Angeles landscape polluted with excess. The story is said to be in the spirit of the classic Steve Martin comedy 'The Jerk.'"

THE TV EXEC SCRAMBLE "Fox is cutting commercial time next season on its two biggest new dramas. J.J. Abrams' 'Fringe' and Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse' will air through out next season with limited commercial interruption. Dubbing the initiative 'Remote-Free TV,' Fox plans to run half the usual amount of commercial and promo time during both shows. That means just five minutes of national commercial time during the hour. Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Liguori introduced the initiative as 'less reason (for viewers) to grab the remote and change the channel.' 'We need to give viewers new reasons to come to network TV.'"

WHERE HAVE ALL THE COUCH POTATOES GONE? "This week, the television upfronts — in which the broadcast networks present their schedules to advertisers — will open with a mystery. Who stole six million viewers? That’s the number who were watching prime time television last May, a month affectionately known as 'sweeps,' but have disappeared this year, according to the overnight Nielsen ratings. Each of the major broadcast networks, save for Fox, has seen its audience decline this season. The ratings for hit shows like 'American Idol' and 'CSI' have approached record lows."

MYSPACE DEFRIENDED BY FACEBOOK? "News Corp. executives worked Wednesday to bolster investor confidence for MySpace, the online social network it won praise for buying in 2005 but lately has attracted concern from Wall Street. Chief Operating Officer Peter Chernin acknowledged that Fox Interactive Media, which includes MySpace, would fall 10% short of revenue projections for the fiscal year."

R.I.P. TV "Real-life broadcasters get set to announce their fall schedules next week in New York, they're still scratching their way out of a trench, otherwise known as the worst season in the history of the network TV business. Not a single one of the new fall series broke through to a big audience, even the ones that looked can't-fail on paper, such as ABC's spinoff 'Private Practice' and NBC's now-dead revival of 'Bionic Woman.' Every network except Fox has posted significant ratings declines for the season so far, according to data from Nielsen Media Research."

WEALTHY (FAMILY) GUY "After 2 1/2 years of negotiations, 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane has inked a mega overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV that would make him the highest-paid TV writer-producer. Today’s trades report that the deal could be worth more than $100 million. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but should MacFarlane's properties, which also include 'American Dad' and upcoming 'Family Guy' spin-off 'The Cleveland Show,' hit all their financial goals, the value of the pact could ultimately enter the nine-figure range, notes Variety."

THIS NATION OF OURS "The Justice Department has taken on the role of the FCC’s enforcer, filing a lawsuit Friday against Fox and Sinclair Broadcast Group to collect $56,000 in fines levied in the long-running indecency case involving Fox reality skein 'Married by America.' The Justice Department’s unusual move came on the same day the FCC rejected Fox’s request for a review of the FCC’s most recent decision to fine a handful of Fox affiliates for carrying the sexually charged reality program in a timeslot in which the FCC has indecency enforcement authority."

Do you need television just as much as you need e-mail and texts and phone calls and pictures and IM? If so, it's your lucky day, you weirdo! Yesterday, Sony Pictures Television, Fox, NBC Universal and MTV all announced major mobile content deals with wireless providers like AT&T and Verizon. Now you'll never have to go without Nip/Tuck or look into the ugly faces of the humanity that populates your respective city. And because it'll be on your cell phone, you can just tell your kid you were doing business when he asks why you weren't watching when he scored the goal.

Soft Gay Bashing

kevinreily

Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly got the last word Tuesday with Ben Silverman, who fired him when he took over at NBC. The two were on a panel of network bigs…where Reilly told us, "I'm about as happy personally as I've been in a long time. Life goes on." But when moderator Barry Sonnenfeld asked the busy programmers how they fit in time for their families, the skirt-chasing Silverman noted that he is single and "dates all their kids." Reilly retorted, "I have boys."

Take that, queer! I guess you can take the News out of Fox…

daredevil

Which man-loving Fox personality might want to keep his cats off the bed during intimate moments? Because you know how the gays gossip about things like that.

Interesting. Does that second sentence intend to insinuate that the culprit is anti-gay when on FOX? And why might he want to keep his cats off the bed? What did those nosy cats do?

It looks like the goddamn conservatives at Fox took some goddamn liberties with this speech that, even according to the FC goddamn C, weren't really necessary.
