A Mom and a Sex Object

For some reason, Esquire magazine is still holding what must be slightly creepy meetings in which it rates sexy women, ultimately picking a "sexiest." Inevitably, the woman it chooses is famous. So famous, in fact, that her sex appeal has been significantly diminished because of the simple fact that everyone's sick of seeing her.

Such is the case, we think, with Halle Berry, winner of this year's sexiest title. She's beautiful indeed, but bland (not to mention a "that one"). When did it all get so boring?

Gallery after the jump.

Vote Or Die

Here's Jessica Alba's latest ad for the Declare Yourself campaign, aimed at getting young people to vote. Although, if you ask us, this doesn't inspire us to do anything politically — we're just creeped out and annoying by Alba, as usual.

In other political celebrity news, an army of famous people — including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Jonah Hill — shot a new ad encouraging everyone not to vote. You can watch it here.

Is the election over yet?

Aww

There's nothing worse than heading back to work after a three-day weekend that went by too fast. Then again, there's nothing better than cute babies. Halle Berry took her daughter, Nahla, to the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens over the weekend, and extreme adorableness ensued. I offer these photos to help brighten your day.

When you picture Mother's Day, you likely imagine flowers and brunch and happy moments with Mom — but thank goodness for Hollywood, which serves as a reminder that this special holiday isn't always picture perfect.

Halle Berry is a new mom! This morning the actress gave birth a 7lb 4 oz baby girl in Los Angeles. Despite not having any photographs of the child, Star magazine is calling her "beautiful," which we suppose is a good guess.

Not Fierce

Halle Berry should pop any day now, but until then, she should be prancing around the city in stilettos and designer dresses. Has J.Lo taught us nothing?

As we don't have a uterus, we won't ever know how a woman in her third trimester can think about anything other than forcing big things through little things, but we suppose it's a nice haircut.

Austerity Now

hallepreglead

For a magazine called In Style one would think some interesting, stylish set design would be at least existent, if not done well. Some satin pillows? Something. Why so sterile? She wasn't giving birth right then.

Skinny Jeans Can't Stop, Won't Stop

Last time we spoke of maternity wear we called a couple gowns "unappealing", which we didn't think was a big deal. How wrong we were, as commenters grew amazingly pouty. They were insulted and insulting, one person even called us Neanderthals. (What? Why?)

We're putting up these adorable pictures as evidence to the fact that we don't dislike clothes for pregnant women, we just dislike ugly frocks for pregnant women. Elf boots on swollen feet, on the other hand!

Jennifer Hudson, seen here maybe getting robbed, is on a short list of actresses Aretha Franklin would like to play her in her biopic.

The "queen of soul" has said that though the process is ongoing, she has watched Hudson's breakout role in Dreamgirls "a couple of times lately," adding that Fantasia Barrino and Halle Berry are also being considered for the part.

Of course, if the film follows Franklin into present day, she'll need to play her, uh, incomparable self.

While talking up her new film, Things We Lost in the Fire, on a taping of The Tonight Show last Friday, Halle Berry decided to try winning over the audience with some sheeny gags. First up, a distorted picture of her with a giant nose. Can you guess where this going?

According to one audience member, "She introduced the first photo by saying, 'Here's where I look like my Jewish cousin!'…No one laughed, and Jay nervously said, 'I'm glad you said that and not me.' When the show aired, they cut out her 'Jewish' comment and added a laugh track to the bit."

The gorgeous actress, who is 4½ months pregnant with her first child, by boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, said, "…I have three girls who are Jewish who work for me. We were going through pictures to see which ones looked silly, and one of my Jewish friends said [of the big-nose picture], 'That could be your Jewish cousin!' And I guess it was fresh in my mind, and it just came out of my mouth…"

And there you have it: The haven of the ethnic friend; a human Achterhuis for when the Nazis of personal responsibility come knocking.

Halle Berry may or may not be three months pregnant. Unless you had sex with her about four months ago, you probably shouldn't be too concerned. We'll let you know, though.
