To be fair, when Matt Lauer had Robert Kennedy Jr. on his show to talk about the "Democratic activist's" new children's book, he probably thought it was going to be a breeze. But if there is one thing they teach you in Morning Show Journalism 101, it's that you never ask a Kennedy how a family member is doing. Though most people obsessed with Marilyn Monroe do their best to forget that she was a drug-addled, insecure mess who many powerful men took advantage of, Lindsay Lohan, Monroe's nakedest young fan, uses her new leggings line to give a refreshingly realistic nod to the original blond bombshell. According to a couple top 10 lists from the Huffington Post, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's bestest, most awesome celebrity supporters are both talk show hosts. Clinton's got Ellen DeGeneres and Obama's repped by Oprah. Clinton also has the backing of Eva Longoria and Magic Johnson, while Obama counts Chris Rock and some Kennedys as fans. None of this should matter, but, remember, 45 percent of American adults put stock in the recommendations of celebrities. Which reminds us of a quote from our favorite politician: "The best argument against democracy is five minutes with the average voter."
