Last night, a handful of celebrities who seemingly had nothing in common gathered to honor — what else? — fragrance. The Fifi Awards, known as the Oscars of the fragrance industry, honored such achievements as best packaging and presented Vera Wang with a hall of fame award. But the real show was on the red carpet, where everyone's favorite D-listers (think Danity Kane and Minka Kelly) gathered to have their pictures taken and answer such hard-hitting questions as, "What are you wearing?" Though he was presumed to be dating Minka Kelly and also seen recently texting the hell out of his "crush," daytime talk show host-cum-baby movie producer Ricki Lake, John Mayer, fickle heart-breaker that he is, is now back in the arms of old flame Cameron Diaz. The Daily News has them "cuddled by the fireplace at the Bowery Hotel and [leaving] together about midnight."
Of all people, John Mayer's way with women is a wonder, man.

A matter of weeks ago, John Mayer's girlfriend was said to be the perfectly lovely Friday Night Light's actress Minka Kelly. But Page Six, that chronic voice of dissent, bursts forth with new, weird information:
John Mayer…made a beeline for Ricki Lake at the Sunshine Sachs p.r. company's Christmas party. The two talked about Lake's new documentary, "The Business of Being Born," before Mayer confessed, "I've had a crush on you for two years." Helpful publicists then herded the two to a back table, where they exchanged numbers. Lake soon left and went to the Rose Bar, where Mayer texted her throughout the night.

John Mayer is now said to be dating Friday Night Lights actress Minka Kelly, whose father is Aerosmith's Parisian guitarist Rick Dufay. And thus we have the biggest slap-in-the-face boyfriend since Meathead.

According to the ratings, you're not watching Friday Night Lights, but you should be. It's the best new show on television…and I've watched an embarrassing number of them. Seriously, just look how adorable one of the stars of the show, Minka Kelly, looked at the GM Style Showcase. She's treading on Rachel Bilson territory here, and I don't use those words lightly.
P.S. How sick is Jimmy Kimmel's moustache?
