Sick Me Out

File this under: Proof that even the most beautiful of models is not perfect.

Victoria's Secret model Karolina Kurkova put her bombshell curves on show during a photo shoot in Miami over the weekend, but it was her peculiar belly button that was attracting all the attention.

A source has revealed magazine and catalogue art directors routinely airbrush one in for in post-production.

Smokin Hot And Extra Fierce

We've never made it through an episode of America's Next Top Model without being utterly appalled and flabbergasted, but last night's show took the cake. You see, Tyra thought it would be cute to throw the contestants a princess pizza party so she could have yet another opportunity to talk about herself. This led to Miss J creeping around the corner in a witch costume with "poisonous" apples and … well, we don't want to spoil it.

Click through for the scene, which starts at 2:00, and then skip ahead to 6:20 to meet the Good Fierce Witch. And yes it's as absurd as it sounds.

A couple of months ago it was Gisele Bundchen, now V Magazine enlisted the always lovely Tyra Banks to appear on the cover of the latest issue. It never ceases to amaze us that a woman who took off her pants on national television is still taken seriously.

Click through for the rest of the pictures from her shoot, which features some serious smiling with the eyes.

COVERGIRL'S UNLIKELY NEW FACE "Ellen DeGeneres confirmed on her syndicated TV talk show today that she will be the new face of CoverGirl cosmetics, appearing in an ad campaign for the Procter & Gamble Co. brand to break in the January issue of Us Weekly magazine."

Praise Jesus

Say hello to Miley Cyrus' new boyfriend and church buddy, Justin Gaston. Justin is the ripe age of 20 while Miley is a mere 15 years old, but age is just a number, right? This strapping young lad was on Nashville Star, where he looked good but sang horribly (proof here). But that's not his day job, which you can click through to admire (slightly NSFW).

Take Two

Today is kind of a milestone of mine, because it's my one year anniversary at Jossip HQ. I started out as an intern over at Jossip.com for a few months before being moved over to Mollygood full-time, so it's not my real first anniversary yet, but I'm sentimental and celebrate anytime I can. I remember showing up at what I have dubbed The Tiniest Starbucks In The World across the street from Bryant Park to interview for the internship and staring across out the window at all of the celebrities and models (and Nigel Barker!). I hadn't a clue I would be there a year later, which is what made this Fashion Week exciting for me.

Blind Iteming Has Never Been Sadder

Upset that you couldn't make it to this season's high-class New York Fashion Week? Don't be! Go find some meth heads in your area who will do anything for another hit; you'll practically be backstage at the Marc Jacobs show:

This always causing trouble A list singer was all over fashion week. He was also all over a model at one of the shows. Not wanting to waste more time with her than necessary, he tempted her with a little white powder, went behind a curtain in the backstage area, and allowed her to get her fill. Then he had her do something else for him if you know what I mean. When she was done, he gave her the rest of the little baggie.

Fashion just gets her really excited

Every time you think Kate Moss has gotten her act together — broke up with Pete Doherty, sort-of admits to an eating disorder in Interview, has the world's largest gold statue made in her honor — she has to go eff it all up again by jumping on the catwalk, of all things:

Taking a Stand

The Republicans are right: These goddamn celebrities just will not leave politics alone and go be celebrities! Look at this frickin' Alaskan governor, for instance, prancing about the pages of Vogue in ridiculously expensive winter wear. Is she for real? Earth to governor: You're a politician, lady, not Cindy Crawford!

See, this is exactly why I'm voting for McCain. Because he has made it well known that he is sick and tired of this horseshit. He's ready to take a stand against the ridiculous, flashy dog-and-pony show politics has…wait, what? What? Oh, for fuck's sake.

One more after the jump.

Hello, Isis ... If That's Even Your Real Name

A handful of people are talking about America's Next Top Model again thanks to the addition of the show's first ever transgender contestant, Isis. She was reportedly discovered on the set of last season's "homeless youth" photoshoot, but claims to be a receptionist — which confuses us a bit. Weren't the extras in the shoot supposed to be homeless girls picked off the streets? What happened?

Anyway, here's a video of her talking about rainbows and puppies. We're off to investigate ANTM's phony claims.

MTV: Helping Girls develop body image problems since 1981

MTV has put out a casting call for their newest shockingly ill-conceived reality show, Model Makers, which will feature young girls being judged on how well they slim down in order to prove their love of the catwalk. So disturbing, but not anything new for reality television, which as of late actually seemed to be pulling back from the precarious brink of Milf Island:

Enjoy It While You Can

Ever wondered what eight gold medals look like? No? Well, Michael Phelps wants to show you anyway, posing on the cover of Sports Illustrated with his winnings hanging around his neck. And if you were curious as to how popular he's become over the past couple of weeks, the media is now speculating on his love life, which means he's officially hit the big time. The two candidates for Michael's maybe-girlfriend are fellow Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard and model Lily Donaldson. The article left out his third potential girlfriend, Whitney, but it's probably best to keep that under wraps.

Better late than never. Tyra Banks invited an army of black models old and young — from Pat Cleveland and Beverly Johnson to Chanel Iman and Selita Ebanks — to her show to celebrate Vogue Italia’s all-black issue. It goes without saying that Naomi Campbell wasn’t in attendance, right?

Model Behavior

giselevmagcover.jpg

Gisele Bundchen let it all hang out for the latest issue of V Magazine and then actually formed some coherent sentences during an interview. Small victories. Despite answering the question of what she's most passionate about with a simple “the destruction of our planet," Gisele had plenty to say when it came to the Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair scandal:

Can you believe this is news? It’s ridiculous. And the politicians aren’t going to create any laws about this [kind of media saturation]. They’re very happy with it. They can go around doing what they want and no one cares because we’re more concerned about some 15-year-old girl holding a sheet in a picture. No one cares about what [the politicians are] screwing up, or how much money is being lost.

Models, Models Everywhere and No One Stops to Think

britmissincopy

Yes, the woman at right is missing a limb, as are the ladies below. Because of this, each and every day they are faced with unique obstacles most of the rest of the world will never understand, and they're certainly all the stronger because of it. Good for them. But we've got one question: How pretty are they compared to one another?

A new show on the BBC seeks to get to the bottom of that query, so that the world may finally know who is the most beautiful, English, female amputee around. Or, as the Britain's Missing Top Model Web site puts it, "Eight young disabled women discover what it takes to be a model - but which of them will win a photo shoot and appear in a top fashion magazine?"

In the words of one William Corgan: The world is a vampire.

Suddenly, after several years of being at the bottom of the fashion heap, black models are back on top. In a big way. Not only are they exclusively populating the pages of this month’s super-hyped Vogue Italia, Wintour & Co. also begrudgingly gave them some attention. At Milan’s Men’s Fashion Week, the designers of Dsquared used a group of models, led by Tyson Beckford, made up almost entirely of black men. And rumor has it that Lanvin’s show next week has an “all-ethnic lineup.”

“Dear Editor: I’d like to get an agent for my daughter…please see pics below. If interested, my name is Melina [xxx] and I can be reached at 858-245-[xxxx].”

Because we, like women’s magazines, are service-oriented, let this serve as an open call for all “agents” on the hunt for new talent. Photos below.
