Mother And Son Still Dead

It's been over a year since the deaths of Anna Nicole Smith and her son, Daniel, but somehow the family remains in the news. This time, Larry Birkhead testified in the Bahamas during the inquest involving Daniel's sudden death in September 2006.

Birkhead testified that in April 2006, Anna realized some of her Methadone was missing in her Studio City home. Birkhead said Anna had surveillance cameras in the house, checked them and found video proof that Daniel and his buddies were the culprits.

While Birkhead was under oath, he was asked about statements he made to the cops back in 2006, when he was at war with Anna. He had told police he saw Howard K. Stern smoke pot with Anna and Daniel. During his testimony, Birkhead said he was not completely clear on what he saw.

Birkhead said Daniel's personality completely changed between January 2006 and May. He saw Daniel throw a TV through a window. Daniel often stayed out all night long and Anna was worried.

Larry then went on to pose with baby Danielynn on the witness stand and sold the pictures to OK! magazine.

The Week Of Conflicting 'Exclusives'

us-021308.jpg

The tabloids are finally getting over Heath Ledger's death, and it's about time, because at this point they're just grasping at straws. Most of the magazines have reverted back to their old habits: covering Brangelina. We want to stab our eyes out every time we are forced to read a "Jen's jealous!" cover story.

Perhaps Britney's stint at the psych ward did some good, because she managed to only land two covers this week. Of course, she brought enough crazy for all five magazines with her declarations of marriage and the fact that she really doesn't want her kids back. Good for her kids.

And famewhores Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are at it again, giving two completely different stories to both Us Weekly and Life & Style. Could it be they're not being honest with someone? Could it be they've never been honest in their lives? We don't care that much anymore, but obviously the tabs do.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue and Something Involved in a Bidding War

OK! magazine bested People in a bidding war for the rights to Eva Longoria's wedding pictures. According to this morning's Page Six report, OK! is spending upwards of $2 million for the photos.

It was a surprising - and costly - end to the battle for the privilege to snap the nuptials, which the "Desperate Housewives" hottie and her San Antonio Spur fiancé plan to hold in a romantic castle in Paris.

"People editors broke the story of their wedding and were working hard with Eva's reps [to secure the picture rights]," said a source close to the talks. "They were upset about losing the photos."

Other sources suggested that previous coverage in People of the couple's rumored breakup, including a photo of Parker with another woman in New York, may have influenced the result.

But a well-placed source said that had nothing to do with it, that "it was [entirely] a matter of money, straight up to the final negotiation." Another insider said, "Everyone wanted the photos . . . but everyone knows OK! will pay [a lot]."

Hey there! These photos have been removed by request of the copyright holder.
Aww, see Kingston, you're just as important as Shiloh.

Baby! Here are the first pictures of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's new son Kingston. These pics are from OK!, who slipped this couple a few thou for these while the rest of the gossip world was getting their panties in a bunch over Shiloh.

Baby Kingston may not glow like our savior, but he's pretty f-ing cute and looks like a happy little bebe nugget. And OK Mag is probably just psyched that they didn't have to sell their children and remortgage their homes to get pictures of Shiloh that would be leaked onto the internet and cause an aneurysm in their legal department. Everybody wins! Except People, they still mostly lose.
