Amy Winehouse is back! The more tragic (and British) version of Britney Spears has had an exciting past few days, including a bad move with London police and a trip to rehab, kinda. People are calling it rehab, but she's expected to be released within the week, so that doesn't make much sense.
Apparently police had summoned Amy to answer questions related to assault claims (she hit a female fan). Because she didn't show up, the authorities are threatening arrest — but we all know that's not going to happen. Instead, she did this:
Glassy-eyed and wearing a Hilda Odgen-style head-scarf, Amy was carted off cackling and grinning through stained teeth to her latest London clinic. … American pal Blake Wood helped her into the cab which ferried her away as she rolled around in the back.
The reason for her hospitalization? According to her enabler father, Mitch, she has a "chest infection." We're sure that's it.

Actor Lillo Brancato Jr, whose most recent work of note was as mobster Matt Bevilacqua in The Sopranos, will go on trial next month for the 2005 murder of an off-duty police officer.
Brancato and another man were allegedly stealing prescription drugs from a private residence when the officer came upon them and a chase ensued. Brancato's co-defendant, Steven Armento, is accused of firing the fatal shot. Brancato claims he didn't know Armento was armed.
This story is about 500 percent less sexy than it would have been on HBO.
The paparazzi have been having a tough go at it lately when it comes to celebrities in airports: First was the epic fight with Kanye West, and now the photogs have been duped by a Jamie Lynn Spears decoy. Just a note: If a Spears outsmarts you, you know it's time to pack it up and call it a day. Anyway, the trickery took place Wednesday when a group of police officers escorted a young blonde girl with sunglasses from her flight to baggage claim. The paparazzi immediately swarmed; meanwhile, Jamie Lynn and baby Maddie snuck out another way.
LA police swore they were not escorting the woman — they were simply helping guide the crowd to baggage claim. Um, except that wasn't the case. Watch the video here.
COP PULLS GUN ON DIDDY ET AL "A cop pulled a gun on rap mogul Sean (Diddy) Combs during a routine traffic stop in Los Angeles, authorities said Sunday. A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy briefly brandished his weapon at Combs on the Sunset Strip after cops pulled over a car driven by a member of his entourage. 'A deputy pulled his firearm, fearing for his safety,' said a sheriff's department spokesman. 'The situation was deflated as quickly as it began.' Combs spokeswoman Keesha Johnson said the cop did not pull the gun directly on the rapper, and stressed that the officers were 'really respectful.'"
A spokesman for the Shreveport Police Department, whose officers were recently involved in the high-profile arrests of actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, says that Shreveport police exhibited nothing but "professionalism" while arresting the W stars, and that there's no proof of any officer calling Wright a "nigger," as has been alleged. "And if y'all Hollywood faggots don't believe me," the spokesman added, "y'all can kiss my lily-white ass, y'heah?" (J/K!)
Even more new information about that Josh Brolin-Jeffrey Wright bar brawl in Shreveport, Louisiana: TMZ is reporting that the "slur" mentioned in our earlier post came not from a fellow bar patron, but Brolin and Wright's arresting officers, who tased and pepper-sprayed the two actors before calling Wright a "nigger."
Update: Actually, both rowdy bar patrons and police officers called Wright a nigger. Nice to hear Louisianans of all stripes finding unity after Katrina.
It's times like these we're grateful 911 calls are public record: An audio was just released featuring Linda Hogan and our new favorite dispatcher ever, who gave the Hogan matriarch some tough love. See, Hulk was evidently stalking Linda (driving by her house while reportedly being prohibited by a court order), so she decided to follow him around in her vehicle for a while. As you do.
The dispatcher was clearly not amused, wondering why Linda would be following around a guy who has frightened her to the point of filing a restraining order. Dude, don't bother trying to figure out the Hogans' thought process. It's really not worth it.

Tatum O'Neal, who in December said Britney Spears needed to "get her disease of addiction together," was arrested in Manhattan's hip Lower East Side Sunday after buying crack from a homeless man.
A stunned O'Neal initially told cops she was "doing research for a part," a police source said. When cops searched her and found two bags of drugs - one with crack, one with regular cocaine - and an unused crack pipe, she changed her story, sources said.
"I've been clean for a long time," the teary-eyed actress pleaded as she asked cops to give her a break, sources said. "Today was the first time I was relapsing, but you guys saved me! Can you let me go?"
Alas, the cops could not let her go.

Paris Hilton is due for some new legal troubles, and our wish has been granted: She and boyfriend Benji Madden are facing a hit and run charge after driving over a photographer's foot last night in LA.
The accident happened as the two left Foxtail nightclub. Benji drove over the photographer's foot and stopped to assess the situation after hearing the pap cry out in pain. Naturally, he then sped off, because the two famewhores have no consideration for others.
The photographer is likely not in any pain, but he went ahead and pressed charges because he's not as stupid as Paris and Benji.

After chatting nicely with the bobbies for a couple minutes and presumably apologizing, Campbell devoured their heads and rushed off to catch her flight.

New information on the recent arrest of Naomi Campbell at Heathrow airport and her subsequent excommunication from all British Airways flights. According to the Sun, as she was being dragged away in cuffs, the maniacal fashion model began calling her arresting officers "fucking white honkeys." She then berated a particular policewoman so badly — calling her things like "white slag" — that the officer has since taken leave. Campbell's spokeswoman said she can't imagine her notoriously violent, malicious client saying anything of the sort. Campbell herself is quoted as saying: "It just goes to show I have to fight for who I am. It’s because I’m black."
