DUCHOVNY OUT OF REHAB "David Duchovny has left a rehab center where he was being treated for sex addiction, his lawyer, Stanton 'Larry' Stein confirmed on Monday. 'David is out of rehab and about to start a new movie. He successfully completed his treatment,' Stein said in a statement to the press."

Dina Lohan has displayed plenty of bad judgment in the past: She married Michael Lohan, the crazy famewhore who likely puts the latest issue of OK! magazine next to the Bible on his nightstand; she steered daughter Lindsay down the worst path possible, which led to arrests and multiple stints in rehab; then she paraded her youngest daughter, Ali, on reality television in an effort to score a record deal. It's quite sad, actually.
To aid her latest project, Dina went to the media with claims that music manager Johnny Wright is desperate to steer Ali's career, much like he has done with Justin Timberlake and the Jonas Brothers. Dina's rep issued a statement saying she was "interested and would take the meeting" with Wright. One problem: Johnny hates her guts and has no problem admitting it.

Dave Moore and Bill Manville put together a nice little article summing up why addicts of the famous variety don't always recover after trips to rehab. Now, to be fair, rehab isn't exactly 100 percent effective for regular civilians, but the success rate is drastically lower when it comes to celebrities. And here's why:
People like Heather Locklear are so sheltered by agents, lawyers and studio publicists — that even if they attend a 12-step meeting, they are still 'stars.' It is difficult for them to experience the healing powers of anonymity and group morale.
Makes sense. Let this be a lesson to all of you: Celebrities who become addicts are simply screwed. Best of luck!

Amy Winehouse is truly a walking miracle for the mere fact that she remains living and breathing despite all odds. Here she is performing a "concert" in London, although we'd call it more of a freak show than anything. Seriously though, how does a person function when one's body looks like that?

THIS 'INSIDER' IS OBVIOUSLY MICHAEL LOHAN "It's been less than a year since Lindsay Lohan left rehab — but friends and family members are frantic that she's on the fast track to another drug and alcohol-driven breakdown. 'Lindsay's been drinking, doing cocaine and causing all-around mayhem for the past few months,' an insider tells Star."

Now here, ladies and gentlemen, is the sign of a true addict: When offered a chance to leave prison early and take a trip to rehab, Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, chose to remain behind bars. Well, at least he's not a quitter.
When Blake Incarcerated was told by prison officers he could leave more than two months ahead of schedule if he agreed to detox, he turned up his nose. Then he was offered an early release on the condition that he live with his mother and wear an electronic tag. Blake, naturally, declined.
Hey, maybe he just likes prison — did you ever think of that? I mean, have you seen what he has to face when he walks out those doors?

The Insider correspondent Pat O'Brien is quite possibly one of our favorite Hollywood train wrecks. We all remember when he made those infamous drunk dials in 2005 in which he romantically told a girl, "You are so f–king hot." (Swoon.) He went to rehab shortly thereafter and again in 2007. Expect a third trip in the near future, because he's reportedly fired from his job at The Insider for yet another classy move: He sent an e-mail to the show's staff in which he complained about how much he hates anchor Lara Spencer. According to Pat, Lara makes people "vomit" when she frets over an Emmy gown because many viewers can't afford food or gas. Fair enough. You know what else makes us vomit, Pat? This.
Update: Text of the e-mail, in which O'Brien proclaims himself a "favorite son" of Iowa, after the jump.

Amy Winehouse is still a total mess.
The singer was hired to DJ at a pub in London, which is quite possibly one of the worst ideas when it comes to Winehouse. Who would hire her in this kind of state? We get that she probably draws a large crowd of ashamed onlookers, much like a car crash, but shouldn't somebody realize that this is exploitation and insist that she sober up before hiring her?

BECAUSE BABIES FIX EVERYTHING "Hollywood lesbian Lindsay Lohan is hoping to raise a baby with girlfriend Sam Ronson, I can exclusively reveal. I hear the Mean Girls star will ask one of her ex- boyfriends to provide the necessary, erm, male input. … [Lindsay] hopes that having a child will help her recovery."
THIRTY DAYS AT A TIME "MacKenzie Phillips has entered rehab, her attorney Blair Berk confirmed Wednesday. Phillips is seeking treatment following her arrest on Aug. 27 for alleged drug possession at Los Angeles International Airport. She was found 'carrying what appeared to be heroin and cocaine in baggies and balloons,' airport police said."

• Christina Aguilera's new perfume ad inspires us to vomit. [Yeeeah]
• As of right now Amy Winehouse is back in rehab. Not sure how long that's going to last, but the facility is right next to Blake Incarcerated, which sounds like a bad idea. [INO]

• Heidi Montag is now claiming she's a virgin. Uh, did she forget all those interviews she gave talking about having sex with Spencer — and the infamous Season 2 pregnancy test? [ICYDK]
• The Real World: Brooklyn reportedly sucks, and it hasn't even finished filming yet. We could have told you that. [CityRag]

It's good to see Amy Winehouse's handlers are still allowing the near-death singer to perform in public, despite the fact that she very clearly needs an intervention and some sort of medical treatment. Amy was looking as terrible as usual over the weekend while she sang at the UK's V Festival, but that didn't stop her from miraculously making it through the performance in one piece.

What the hell is wrong with Dr. Phil? First he attempted to cash in on Britney Spears' epic mental breakdown and now he's moved on to poor Mindy McCready.
The country singer is rumored to be in a Texas rehab center that specializes in drug addiction and mental health issues — that's a step in the right direction. What's not right is Dr. Phil's involvement in the entire process, including a visit to the rehab center. After Mindy's spent her 30 days in the clinic she'll tape an appearance on The Dr. Phil Show to explain how she doesn't think she has a problem. Which … makes entirely no sense.
Oprah, we blame you.

More details are emerging about country singer Mindy McCready's recent admittance to a rehab facility, and it's not looking pretty. Apparently Mindy's three-month relationship with an unidentified man resulted in an unwanted pregnancy — until she miscarried on July 16. Mindy's "emotional reaction" (a suicide attempt?) to the miscarriage triggered her trip to the emergency room of a Nashville hospital. Her current stint in rehab is for “alcohol, substance abuse and emotional issues, with the emotional issues being at the top of the list.”
But just in case anyone was mistaken that the media is focused on getting Mindy the help she needs, please note the last sentence of Access Hollywood's report: "A reality show revolving around McCready also is reportedly in the planning stages."
LIKE WE NEED A REASON "After a trip to the emergency room in Tennessee, country singer Mindy McCready entered rehab for undisclosed reasons, her rep tells People."
WE FORGOT SHE WAS IN REHAB"After successfully completing four weeks of treatment for anxiety and depression, Heather Locklear is back home. 'Heather's feeling really great,' says a close friend. 'And she looks beautiful, just radiant.'"

For every great idea like Dingo Drop '08, there's also a really, really terrible one — hence the latest revelation that Amy Winehouse plans to volunteer to help drug addicts.
One of Amy's "friends" says that, despite obvious evidence to the contrary, the singer "has turned a corner" and "wants to make a difference and give something back to people who are battling with addictions." Considering all of Amy's friends at the moment are addicts (see also: Pete Doherty), we'll chalk this up to drug-fueled ramblings.

Miley Cyrus' Good Morning America performance today in Bryant Park further cemented the theory that she is a miniature Britney Spears in the making. The choreographed dance moves, the giggly interviews — she's a pro at the ripe age of 15, which means she's due for a rehab stint within the next three years.
