Sad news, everybody: Rosie O'Donnell's Thanksgiving variety show didn't survive past the first performance. We admittedly didn't watch, because anybody who gives "talk to the hand" is not worthy of our viewership, but evidently we weren't alone: Only 5 million suckers tuned in Friday night to "Rosie Live."

When asked about what went wrong, Rosie expressed her wisdom through a couple of non-haikus:

Sarah, Not So Much

Rosie O'Donnell, keeper of Mollygood's trolls, pranced over to The Today Show to discuss with Meredith Viera her upcoming (and ill-advised) variety show that is scheduled to torment your television sets this week. Naturally, the two former View moderators discussed Rosie's latest feud with Barbara Walters, which is likely not going to end anytime soon seeing as how Ro just can't keep her mouth shut. Time must have run short, because Meredith forgot to ask about the infamous Mollygood Celebrity Encounter that everyone's talking about (441 comments and counting, really?). Better luck next time.

No But Seriously, Where Are The Trolls?

Official Mollygood sweetheart Rosie O'Donnell is at it again, this time responding to Barbara Walters' response to Rosie's statement that the ladies of The View don't always like each other. The fact that she can sit around and do stuff like this all day makes us confused — do we laugh and think it's awesome or cry and think it's sad?

Here Come The Trolls!

Once again, there's trouble on The View. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with Elisabeth Hasselbeck and America's desire to ship her over to FOX News — no, this time around, the source is none other than Mollygood's sweetheart, Rosie O'Donnell. You see, Rosie told some reporters that all is not rainbows and sunshine over at the morning television henhouse: "I'm not saying they loathe each other, but the fact of the matter is there was not a lot of camaraderie off camera." Barbara Walters, of course, had something to say about that and took a moment from humiliating Elisabeth during Hot Topics to defend their lovefest (around the 2:45 mark).

Donald Trump, care to comment?

No Baba Wawa Needed

Barbara Walters released the names of some of her Most Fascinating People for 2008. Among the lucky losers are Will Smith (uh, why?), Tom Cruise (again, why?), Miley Cyrus, Tina Fey, Frank Langella, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Phelps. We agree with a few, but overall it looks to be another snoozefest.

After the jump: Mollygood's Most Fascinating People for 2008. Feel free to add to the list.

GOTTA RESPECT LOYALTY Rosie O'Donnell fans are angrily responding en masse to this MG Celebrity Encounter, which O'Donnell says "never happened." She also says she'd never be caught dead in Uggs, which is something we can agree on.

Mollygood Readers Tell All

There are two sides to all celebrities: The squeaky-clean images forced upon the public by PR reps and their actual personalities. To provide you with a glimpse into the real Hollywood characters are Mollygood’s very own readers, telling tales of celebrity encounters big and small. Up this week: Sarah's retail experience with Rosie O'Donnell.

COLOR US SHOCKED "A longtime staff member on The View chatfest says, 'It's not as bad as during the Rosie [O'Donnell] era,' but the presidential election has GOP-er Elisabeth Hasselbeck 'really upset' with her liberal co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. I understand View creator Barbara Walters has called a 'cooling off' meeting to keep a lid on things."

Gimme Some Money

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were recently wed in a very well-publicized ceremony in Beverly Hills. After that, DeGeneres took to her blog to decry California's Proposition 8, the constitutional amendment that would eliminate same sex couples' right to marry and could possibly nullify all the gay marriages that came before it.

Yet despite all the good she's done for gay rights in California, there's rumbling coming from other Proposition 8 opponents who say DeGeneres needs to contribute more. Specifically, Ellen has yet to send a big, fat check to the cause, and insiders say that that omission has the potential to hurt both Ellen and Prop 8 in the long run.

Here's a blind item supposedly based on information obtained from Rosie O'Donnell at a recent book signing:

Which famous gastric bypass recipient reportedly "has to wear diapers" because she "poops soup"?

If we had our way, The View would be an hour of hot topics only involving politics, because the arguments that ensue are the only reason to watch. This morning, Elisabeth became angry that nobody was letting her finish her inane sentences and we were thisclose to having another on-set blowup like the one she had with Rosie last year. Unfortunately, it's hard to stay mad at Whoopi, so crisis averted.

• This is the prostitute for whom Eliot Spitzer pissed away his life. She's 22, from New Jersey (no duh!) and a budding singer. Oh, yeah, she's also willing to have sex with unattractive but powerful men for money. Friend her on MySpace! [NYT]

Rosie O'Donnell's partner currently looks like Susan Powter used to look. Yes, compliment. [DListed]

• It wasn't that cold yesterday. [PS]

• "Want To Know How Much Angelina Jolie’s Outfit Costs?" Huh? Do ya? Do ya? [INO]

• As a child, Julie Andrews was molested by her stepfather, but she still kept his surname. Sick all around. [ICYDK]

• More of the same from Carmen Electra. Honestly, she needs to give it up. Everything. Just stay at home and relax. Enough with the modeling. [HT]

• Why do celebrities get such bad tattoos? [CityRag]

OH, THE WHINES "Comedian and actress Rosie O’Donnell wants to return to television in a sitcom about three best friends that would co-star 'The Nanny’s' Fran Drescher. Nine months after her abrupt departure from the daytime talk show 'The View,' O’Donnell said on her blog that she had teamed with Drescher on the project, which is still in the early stages."

Angry Drunk to Become Angry Teetotaler

rosiecustface

Rosie O'Donnell has finally admitted to what many people probably already expected: she's an alcoholic who drinks because she's overweight and overweight because she drinks. It's the premise for a bad Chris Farley movie if it weren't so real (and he weren't dead)!

O'Donnel broke the news in a stanza on her blog:

cause i was drinking too much
cause i didnt want to anymore
cause it is hard to lose weight wen drinking
cause i can never have only one

Cathartic and Profitable

rosiestrei

Rosie O'Donnell is taking her harrowing personal trials and turning them into a play. The as-yet-untitled project is a one-woman show and is already in rehearsals somewhere outside of New York.

Cindy Adams, the New York Post's craziest doting mother, says, "It's based on her life story - her first one. She's lived many lives." Certainly that sentence is more complicated than the play will be. Reserve your ticket now! (Yes, singular, you have to see something like this alone.)

Choose Your Loser

What a year of decadence and depravity in Hollywood, huh? Throughout the last 12 months, Lindsay Lohan went to rehab and jail, Britney Spears went to rehab, Paris Hilton went to jail, Nicole Richie went to jail, Kiefer Sutherland went to jail, Michelle Rodriguez went to jail and Anna Nicole Smith died.

We'll probably never know for sure exactly what the hell is wrong with these people (we assume it's a combination of too much fame and money and too little education), but we're almost certain their steady decline into mediocrity, criminality and early graves will not cease in 2008. The question is who will falter this year, and in what way.

Here, let us make some predictions:

Rosie O'Donnell won the title of most annoying celebrity! She immediately took to her blog to be annoying about people finding her annoying. Stop hitting yourself! [ICYDK]

• Lots of plastic surgery in '07. Good for them. [CityRag]

• Things in Pakistan are still very bad. In 2008, it's likely they won't get much better. [NYT]
