This is not good, you guys: Gas prices are so high that Diddy can't afford to fuel his private jet — and he's forced to fly commercial. Take a moment, sit down, wipe the tears from your eyes. We have word that Diddy is still alive and staying strong, even under these dreadful circumstances. To add insult to injury, he even has to fly coach! Except in the video it's pretty obvious he plops down in a first-class seat. Liar.

Here's Diddy's plea: "I wanna give a shoutout to all my Saudi Arabian brothers and sisters and all my brothers and sisters from, um … all the countries that have oil. If y'all could please send me some oil for my jet I would truly appreciate it." We have a feeling Saudi Arabia has bigger issues to worry about, but we'll see what happens.

Speculation

timgunnsaudi

Um, I think I just saw Tim Gunn carefully surveying a menu in front of a restaurant in Saudi Arabia. I couldn't confirm it was him, because I was with a lot of people who wouldn't "get it," but: that silvern hair!

Anyone know why he might be here? Is this a Proj Run spoiler?????????

Dear Internet,

Hey! It's me, Cord.

Sorry to leave you hanging, but I've been quite busy lately. Tax season! or whatever, right? Then I had to go to Trader Joe's, and everyone in NYC knows the lines there are ridiculous! Oh, and then I had to go to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to donate a kidney to my ill father. Yes, seriously.

Anyway, that's that. I am working from over here for now, but, because Mollygood.com is a banned Web site (Baaaaaaaaaanned in the KSA!), I've got to go through other channels to post.

That's why my pal and managing editor Andrew Belonsky has been popping up on the site.

If you'd like, you can check out my Saudi exploits at Kidney and the Kingdom, a blog I perhaps stupidly named after that one TV show that's become an advertising campaign for a movie.

Be excellent to each other,
Cord

Global Warming Isn't Real!

saudisnow

It's snowing in Saudi Arabia! My father is over there doing whatever it is he does and he sent me these pictures. "The coldest winter in decades," he says.

I think it resembles Hoth, just more nonsecular: "Morning and afternoon prayers are being combined in many mosques because of the morning cold…"

The overturned vehicles are no surprise, as the Saudis drive like careless, selfish madmen, and uncharacteristically icy roads can't help a thing. But if you can ignore the twisted steel, the landscape is beautiful in a unique way.

(This isn't pop culture related, but neither is almost everything.)

Character Assassination

borat

Sacha Baron Cohen is retiring his bumbling Borat character, thereby reinstating Saudi Arabia as the entity laughing the loudest at America while profiting the most off America.
