If a certain report out of the U.K. is to be believed, Sex and the City isn’t the only big screen adaptation of a favorite television series to look forward to. Get ready for Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe to regroup, more than four years after the show wrapped, for Friends the movie. Supposedly they’ve seen the success of Sex and realized, “Hey, people might still like us!” (As if our TiVo full of every day’s cache of syndicated episodes might suggest otherwise.) Also: They could command enormous paydays, especially if they get in on the production side! Plus: It’s not like any of them are doing something worthwhile in front of a camera these days (read: Dirt).

MALE CRITICS BIASED AGAINST SATC? "As it turns out, Rotten Tomatoes presents 139 reviews, 69% of which are written by men. Only 49% of male critics wrote positive reviews while 51% panned 'Sex & The City.' The funny thing about people who get mad if you make fun of the Sex and the City women is that the Sex and the City women hate each other more than any cultural critic out there. It's true! We've read about them fighting about clothes and screen time and favoritism and blah, blah, blah. And that's when they were all successful for the same thing. Imagine the backbiting that's happening now that Samantha's getting her OWN HBO show.
[Kim] Cattrall is set to star in and executive produce an adaptation of the British comedy series "Sensitive Skin," which is being written and exec produced by Emmy-winning "The Sopranos" scribes Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green.
The project, in development at the pay cable network with a significant penalty attached to it, centers on a middle-aged wife and mother (Cattrall) in New York who rediscovers her sexuality and begins to question her place in the world and the choices she has made in life.

COITUS INTERRUPTUS "Warner Bros has told me this morning that 'Sex and the City' scored an estimated $17.7 million on Saturday, and the studio is calling for $55.7 million for opening weekend. Model Lauren Hutton, who participates in an industry that mainly requires her to keep quiet and look pretty, should probably continue to do just that. In a diatribe on The Today Show, Hutton criticized Sex and the City for portraying all women as sluts:
It's written by guys, who happen to be gay, who are sluts. That's what I think.
Let's face it: Most men are sluts. That's what testosterone is supposed to do. As a hunter, if you stayed alive after 30, nature wanted your genes out there. Women were just trying to get the best sperm to make a masterpiece.
You have a bunch a guys who are sluts, writing for women and telling them they are supposed to act like this.
Sure, you could maybe argue the issues with stereotypes, but the main writer behind all this is Candace Bushnell — definitely not a gay man. Sadly, Hutton is a prime example of someone who probably has something worthwhile to say who simply comes across as crazy.

We were halfheartedly joking yesterday when we guessed that there would be a lot of tactless, racially-motivated humor in the Sex and the City movie, and we were pleasantly surprised when readers who had already seen the flick declared – however cattily – that we were way off base. Turns out those readers are shameful liars.
Anthony Lane's absolutely eviscerating New Yorker review of SATCTM reveals one rather glaring affront on the diversity that makes "the City" so damn great for those of us largely uninterested in its boutiques.
That plea gets second prize for the most revealing line in the film, the winner being Miranda’s outburst as she hunts for an apartment in a mainly Chinese district: “White guy with a baby! Let’s follow him.” So that’s what drives these people: Aryan real estate.
Yay! Stick together, white Americans! And shame on the race-mixers.
