Noblesse Obnoxious

The bald man at right is named Greg Garcia. He's the creator and executive producer of the inexplicably undestroyed show My Name Is Earl. Though moneyed, Garcia tried his manicured hand at being poor during part of the three-month writer's strike, and his findings are quite offensive.

Garcia spent the month of January working…as a cashier and janitor in a fast-food restaurant…he remained [anonymous] throughout his 30-day gig, taking the job without revealing his identity until he was about to turn in his uniform.

"This wound up a really positive thing," Garcia said. "…The place was unbelievably clean. The people whom I worked with were great. And the work itself was fun. Really. I worked hard — cashiering, cleaning the bathrooms. A few days in, they liked me so much they asked me to join their management team."

"Unbelievably clean"? You mean all fast-food employees aren't revolting slobs whose work environment reflects their disgusting personal lives? Thanks, you rich fucking dickhead!

After deceiving the restaurant's entire staff, taking a job a needy person could have used, being promoted ahead of his peers almost immediately and then quitting after a month, Garcia dropped a $10,000 check on one lucky fry cook whom he says he "befriended." And what are friends for if not to single each other out with amounts of money so staggering that all their jealous coworkers will grow to loathe them?
