Mob Ties

If you're like us, you like your booze to reflect your loyalty to TV shows and your immature, macho obsession with people who earn respect by murdering other people. In that case, it's time to get drunk, comrades!

Actor Lillo Brancato Jr, whose most recent work of note was as mobster Matt Bevilacqua in The Sopranos, will go on trial next month for the 2005 murder of an off-duty police officer.

Brancato and another man were allegedly stealing prescription drugs from a private residence when the officer came upon them and a chase ensued. Brancato's co-defendant, Steven Armento, is accused of firing the fatal shot. Brancato claims he didn't know Armento was armed.

This story is about 500 percent less sexy than it would have been on HBO.

After auctioning off the bricks of Satriale's Pork Store to people with too much time and money, developers are building condominiums on the vacant lot where the meat market made famous by The Sopranos once stood. Unfortunately and expectedly, the building will be called The Soprano. If the properties sell well, the developers have said they will proceed further with their "Gangs are Cool" project, to include The Crip in Los Angeles and the We Kill and Torture People Towers in Manhattan.

Are you a boob who thinks fake murderers are cool? So cool, in fact, that you would like to own an inanimate object that was once in the presence of fake murderers? Today's your lucky day, moron.

The meats and sandwiches are long gone, but fans of HBO’s “Sopranos” can comfort themselves with some of the rocks that made up the facade of the fictional Satriale’s Pork Store, one of Tony Soprano & Co.’s favorite hangouts.

The owner of the building is selling the white stones online before the structure is demolished next month. A condominium complex named The Soprano will be built on the site.

Building owner Manny Costeira said the 2,000 bricks will sell for $25 to $50 apiece, and will include a serial number and certificate of authentication.

Even more frightening is that the owner of Satriale's has received angry e-mails demanding that he not tear down "Tony's joint." In related news: Televisions keep getting bigger!

Sopranos Ends on a Steve Perry High Note

me: how was the sopranos finale
i don't watch it
was it a disappointment
to people?
Brendan: ha, I thought it was a perfect ending… completely open ended and ambiguous… just like the central moral conceit of the show
me: a lot of people were upset that he didn't die, right?
Brendan: it was a big F-you to the people who only watch for the surface level blood and guts of the show…
so yea, alot of people were pissed off… but I liked it
Brendan: I mean, anyone who watched it and thought David Chase would wrap it up in a neat package, didnt really understand what the show was about… but, at the same time, I can understand how the fact that the show just cut to black at the end would frustrate even the most deep thinking viewers
me: interesting
from a non-fan's perspective, i kinda liked the ending
you think there's assassins everywhere
Brendan: yea, all the little dramatic tensions gave the viewer a sense of paranoia- real or imagined, then left it up to us to interpret the ending… that was pretty cool…
me:i'm going to put this on mollygood, ok?
Brendan:yea, sure no problem
