OK, last post about the TRL finale, we swear. We tried to sit through the entire two and a half hour extravaganza, but we just couldn't. Our willpower is not yet that strong. We did, however, catch the interview with Travis Barker, one of the first glimpses of the musician since the September plane crash that killed four and injured Travis and DJ AM. He didn't seem to be 100 percent, obviously, but he looked to be healthy and upbeat, painful interviews aside.

Nobody Cares

Last night's TRL finale wasn't quite the circus it proved to be back in its heyday, mainly because the show has been trying way too hard since before Britney Spears took her tumble. Regardless, some of the show's most successful graduates showed up to pay tribute to arguably the best thing MTV ever produced. Tons of photos after the jump.

But Where Will The Crazies Go Now?

Today marks the end of an ear-piercing, tween-infused era, thanks to the final episode of TRL airing tonight — and it's live, which is more than we can say about it over the past couple of years. Has-been Carson Daly will host the finale, which is fitting because the years he ran the show were the Glory Days for not only Carson but TRL itself. After many years of pimping out boy bands and Britneys, the show took a turn for the worst, no longer filming live, losing host after host, offering a haven for sad tweens who eat their hair — and making life miserable for Mollygood editors who braved the masses for their favorite singers.

After the jump, a look at our favorite moments from the show's 10-year run.

Impressive, Y'All

We almost spit out our breakfast this morning while coming across this picture. Yes, it's Britney Spears, and yes, it's recent (from the set of her latest video). It looks just like the 2002 version of Brit. Unbelievable. Anyway, the singer will debut the video for "Womanizer" (um, would you judge us if we said the song is kind of growing on us?) Friday night on 20/20. See what you've done, MTV? You canceled TRL and now pop stars are forced to take their music videos to Diane Sawyer.

Where Will All The Tweens Go?

MTV's Total Request Live, the music video countdown show that seemed really amazing back in 1998 and then rapidly became worse as everyone grew older, will go off the air in November.

The show's 10-year run will end in a two-hour Saturday afternoon special. But don't cry yet: TRL's executive producer promised the show isn't ending for good — it's simply taking a break. Perhaps when the show returns it could be, oh, we don't know … filmed live? Instead of on a Monday morning? And it could focus on an actual countdown, like the premise suggests? Yikes, we sound old.

Don't Hurt Yourself

These pictures from the Jonas Brothers' latest visit to TRL made me cringe at first because those poor girls are quite obviously in the middle of a breakdown, but then I remembered I have no room to talk after my years-long *NSYNC obsession. It's good to see a boy band gain that same level of popularity again — every teenage girl should go through that sad, obsessive stage.

Fail

mileytrl1.jpg

TRL seems to be a breeding ground for bad fashion statements: First Mariah Carey showed up in that monstrosity of an 8th grader's outfit, and now Miley Cyrus appeared on the program looking like she let a blind person pick out her clothes. Really, how many articles of clothing is this girl wearing? It's out of control.

Fail

mimitrl3.jpg

Eternal 12-year-old Mariah Carey reverted back to 1982, when she was at her ideal age, with this horrendous outfit at a TRL taping. You're telling me Mimi has all the money in the world and she chose to go with an outfit (complete with glittery belt) one could find at a garage sale? … We give up.

Never Again
whitneyontrl2.jpg

Yesterday was my big television debut on TRL (featuring Gavin DeGraw), and it was even more uncomfortable and embarrassing than I had imagined. My mom insisted on calling the entire family back in Texas to alert them about my appearance, some of my friends from college skipped class to watch … too much attention, if you ask me. I'm just not cut out for the camera.

That said, I found a video of the show on YouTube for your enjoyment. Luckily, it's a little blurry, so you can't see the awkward faces I make throughout — so just trust me on this one. I'm in the blue cardigan to the left of Fergie's head, but you could just as easily find me by searching for the oldest one in the group.

'What Is A Diva?'

mimimrchow

Mariah Carey's new album just reached the No. 1 spot in the US, so naturally her diva behavior has been growing stronger by the day. Her latest victim was a reporter for Spain's Shangay Express, who visited New York and was forced to wait hours one night until Mariah finally called at 2:30 a.m. and canceled the interview — but good news! The reporter got to sit and listen to Mariah's new album on repeat. If that's not enough to drive you to insanity, we don't know what is.

The reporter's troubles continued the next day backstage at Mimi's TRL appearance, where Mariah's assistant insisted the interviewer be sprayed with the diva's perfume before proceeding. And then came the actual interview, which took place in the back of a car on the way to Carey's next appearance. Luckily, the reporter caught the flight back to Spain, but only with minutes to spare.

But why blame Mariah for that? Divas needn't worry themselves with concepts such as "time" and "consideration for others."

It's All For You, Gavin

trlstudio.jpg

Let me preface this by saying that I love Gavin DeGraw with all my heart. He is my all-time favorite artist in the world, and he is one of the few people (see also: Lance Bass) for whom I would torture myself in this inhumane manner.

I got an e-mail a few nights ago alerting me to the fact that Gavin would be taping a TRL appearance Monday at 10 a.m. (Don't even get me started on the fact that TRL is no longer "live.") Naturally, I signed up right away and spent the days leading up to the show mentally preparing for the screaming teenagers I would encounter. Unfortunately, no amount of preparation could ready me for the hell that was outside the MTV studios.

Kids These Days

teenager

Right now, Mollygood associate editor Whitney is waiting in line to attend a taping of MTV's desiccated flagship TRL, where she will profess her love to musician Gavin DeGraw. Predictably, the poor girl's losing it out there amid the droves of hormonal sycophants that go to those things. Via BlackBerry, Whit notes, "I should have brought a gun."

Some real Texas sass after the jump.

Not Your Best Look

mimi.jpg

Mariah Carey stopped by TRL yesterday in an outfit more appropriate for a 1998 hooker convention.

Is there a thought process behind wearing those shoes or should we stage some sort of intervention?

Music for Money's Sake

ashceleb

Ashlee Simpson stopped by the fittingly atrocious TRL on Thursday to discuss her upcoming record. The blond shell described the album's sound as "cheeky, quirky and sweet," saying, "I wanted to do music with beats…I kind of laugh at things a lot, so you’ll hear that on the record."

Music with beats is alright, we guess. But we don't want to hear you "laugh at things a lot," we want to hear you sing good songs over those beats. Is that too much to ask from a musician nowadays?
