Horror fans want their gore! Even in this time of real, knowable death, there are people who still desire to see colored corn syrup splashed all over the faces of struggling actors and darkened sets. But Lionsgate Entertainment, one of the horror genre's leading production companies, is apparently biting the disembodied hand that fed it for so long in favor of family friendly schlock.
Much to the dismay of the world's more bloodthirsty moviegoers, Lionsgate has shelved Midnight Meat Train, a film promising "as much gore, if not more, as Saw and Hostel." And when it is eventually released, Meat Train will run on just 100 screens before being hurried to DVD. Not fair! As elsewhere in the company, kid-friendly Tyler Perry is currently producing three movies, all of them surely about families coming together in difficult times, and all of them scheduled to be released before the close of 2009.

Click the photo above to watch an interview Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson did in support of their new movie, Why Did I Get Married. While the conversation should have been absolutely boring, one of the brilliant reporters decided to ask Jackson about her "wardrobe malfunction." A timely question considering the incident of which he speaks only happened about four years ago. As one would expect, he gets no response, awkwardness is shared by all and, once Perry and Jackson are dropped from the live feed, the man bravely proclaims he expected some answers. Hard hitting!
