I don’t think it as to do with failing health, he still travels all over the place with his little cabaret show. His daughter lives in LA and is pregnant so he probably just wants to be able to go see his grandchild.

Not only is he old and has had about l0 face lifts, but we have enough of him. Enough is Enough! He is so damn egotistical that he just won’t quit even after having serious heart surgery. Regis, everyone is sick and tired of seeing you and you should have retired years ago. If you are so bored staying home, then find another hobby but get off T.V. You are getting too old and you know it and have had enough face lifts. They are not making you younger but you look like you belong in a wax museum.

Although Regis Philbin is only going to be on “Live” 3 days a week, he’s still out on the circuit performing live along with his wife, Joy, and/or Susan Lucci. That leads me to believe that he’s just tired of being a talk show host, not that he’s retiring. If he does leave, I think the “Live” show should be canceled. Without the banter between Regis and Kelly, the show is only lukewarm at best.

that’s the best news i’ve heard in a long time.
both regis and kelly are loud mouths, their show looks like it’s produced my a third grader. our local station took them off last year and replaced them with the 700 club and that is what we watch now.

Hey! To each his own! They have enough fans that they both “laugh all the way to the bank,” as the old saying goes. What do you accomplish by all the nastiness?

I quit watching because they end every show with some hip hop group that couldn’t carry a tune in a big bucket! On really bad days Howie is the guest host.

If Regis goes to 3 days a week, I doubt very seriously if Kelly Ripa can carry the show,no matter who the co-host is. She just does not have it and her stories are so uninteresting. I bet the ratings will fall big time.
