if you've ever read anything about mannerisms, this is usually one of two things…either the person doing it is flirting (showing off their "femininity"…) or they're nervous. With her, I'd bet it's the latter, because she knows she's about to be shown as the hateful, no-substance "columnist" that she truly is.
oh, and she did have one other defense…(loudly)talk over the person who's questioning you before they can get their entire point across.
