The missives contained in Mollygood’s comments sections run the gamut from funny to enlightening to choleric to unreadable, but rarely are they boring and even rarer (thankfully) are they peppered with “OMG she is hottttttttt!” or “z”s in the place of “s”s. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd…. they spoke out against someone they find to be cartoonish, a old bully druggie, unstatesmanlike, member of a racist church he didn’t know was racist and anti-America, throws those that stand in his way under the bus and takes no personal blame.. and is unreliable on voting and performing his job in the senate? Think he’s a fool and will be fooled by people smarter than him, because he has no certain government management agenda he can declare to prove he’s smart other than bragging? I don’t get the worry on their rebuttal. He’s against not rich white people hating any other people he says; as if not rich white people only do this, nor is he proud of the USA in terms of respecting the will and rights of the black man and people of other colors getting more than whites, can’t speak legibly on any subject.. like pretty puffy clouds of air you hear and envsion.. but no substance and is miffed some white people don’t like him to put them down for their freedom to choose how to live in their America lifestyle? By the way he is more arab and white than black, so he must be strange or something to feel he is primarly black and must fight for the man of African descent? Or is that racist?

Either of those has the same societal basis as marrying a person of the same sex: no precedent, by definition cannot advance the society by procreation, and a construction wholly without natural basis. Good luck to all of you out there.

Marriage isn’t about what’s “fair” or “right” but about creation and maintenance of a stable society. Show me a single surviving culture which allowed the marriage of two people of the same sex.

If you point to the rate of divorce or parentless children as evidence that the heterosexual union is no less permanent than a homosexual one, I’m inclined to agree. The solution is not to further deconstruct society by allowing novel unions which advance the cause of whimsicality in defining the family, but to strengthen society by strengthening marriage and family. Support your friends who are considering divorce and urge them to work it out. Make sure your children know that birthing children outside of a family unit is unacceptable and almost always doomed to failure. Just as today society refuses to accept racism that was the norm 50 years ago, we can change from what is the norm today to one that values the family.

JMC - You truly are a dolt! Can your dog or an inanimate object enter into a contract? No. Then they can’t enter into a marriage either. Marriage is a contract, plain and simple. If you care to imbue it with childish “magical” thinking, that’s your problem, keep it out of my business.
