That's definitely an Iron Cross, not a Maltese.

And it's not like it's a new concept. Musicians (amongst others) have been wearing all kinds of crosses, rosaries, and other symbols in various locations without adhering to the beliefs.

Since I am Maltese I can decidedly say that is not a Maltese cross and must have eight points in order to be one.

yeah i'm pretty sure it's an iron cross and not a maltese cross…but either way both are pretty ridiculous for a former rock star to wear on his crotch.
